Mark Sasso Does Dio 'Master Of The Moon' Artwork
Illustrator, Marc Sasso, who has done album covers for Dio, Morbid Angel, Cryonic Temple, Rob Rock, Hard Echo and recently the new Cage CD, is now painting the new Dio cover for "Master Of The Moon". Marc is the only artist to have done two Dio covers.
Marc told Maximum Metal (maximummetal.com): "I can't think of a better way to spend my Independence Day then painting new cover art for one of the greatest American heavy metal singers in history - Ronnie James Dio! The artwork is everything you've come to love within the Dio universe -a bad-ass creature in a magical environment, with a twist. Ronnie's vocals and music have been a huge part of my life and he is one of the coolest, most down to earth people I've ever met. I am thankful that I have been given the opportunity to create his cover art for a 2nd time. Long live the man on the Silver Mountain. Marc Sasso - July 4th, 2004
Look for the new Dio CD "Master Of The Moon" to be released August 30, in Europe through SPV Records. A U.S. release date through Sanctuary Records has yet to be announced. The follow-up to 2002's "Killing The Dragon" was recorded at a Los Angeles studio and features lyrics that
are "cynical" and "political", with the music being a mixture of up-tempo and doomy tracks, according to frontman Ronnie James Dio.
Songtitles set to appear on the CD include:
1. Master Of The Moon
2. Death By Love
3. I Am
4. The End Of The World
5. One More From The Road
6. Shivers
7. In Dreams
8. The Man Who Would Be King
9. Living A Lie
10. The Eyes
A U.S. tour is expected to kick off on Sept. 23 in Detroit.

Tony Iommi: 'Dio Deserves A Bit More Credit...'
In a recent interview with Guitar World Magazine, BLACK SABBATH guitarist TONY IOMMI talked about the other legendary Sabbath frontman, RONNIE JAMES DIO, "(On the Dio albums) I'm really satisfied with them. No disrespect to OZZY, but I think it's a shame that they've been buried by all the Ozzy stuff. I think they're good albums, and I think Dio deserves a bit more credit than what he did get. He rarely gets mentioned when people talk about the band. Same with TONY MARTIN."
Iommi is currently working on another solo album and performing this summer at Ozzfest with original Sab members Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.

Pilson Speaks About Dio And Dokken
In a members only Q&A with the DIO fan messagae board ( http://dioboard.proboards4.com/index.cgi ), bassist JEFF PILSON talked about his experience with the leadership dynamic in DOKKEN and DIO, two bands he was a part of for several years, "Well Dokken is (at least when I was in the band) a leaderless democracy, which can be good and can be bad. The major trouble I tended to have with Don was when he tried to take control in situations he wasn't always that well equipped for. He often tried to make it FEEL like he was the leader, when in fact he really wasn't- and things would get very scattered. Now that's not saying Don doesn't have wonderful qualities, but the best work we did was usually when there wasn't the ego drama and people created and contributed in a freer way. With Ronnie, it's quite the opposite. No doubt he's the leader, but he never forced that feeling unless he had to. He maintains control while still allowing the individual to flourish. Sure he has his moments, like anyone, but I think he really enjoyed when the band would jam and it really felt like a band. Ronnie is absolutely the best band leader I've ever seen or been around..."
