The Blackout Argument Signs To Lifeforce
Lifeforce has announced the signing of one of Germany's most exciting hardcore acts to their ever growing roster, THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT.
The band was formed from the remains of perished underground acts PAINT THE TOWN RED (Join the Teamplayer / Thorp Records) and FLYSWATTER (Eat the Beat / Roadrunner) in early 2006. Their unique version of melodic hardcore delivers a perfect balance of heavy guitar riffing, blaring screams, shouts and excellent singing vocals. Their songs are filled with creative melodic lead-guitars and vary from faster-paced tracks with heavy breakdowns to catchy mid-tempo-style tunes. THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT manage to strengthen this setup with great songwriting skills.
The band commented on their signing to Lifeforce Records: "We are more than happy that we are given the chance to work with an amazing record label that is able to push this band to the next level. Signing to Lifeforce Records reinforces us that all the hard work and dedication was not in vain. We also feel honored to now be a part of such an incredible roster of both, promising new and well established bands from all over the world. We are so much looking forward to releasing our debut album “Decisions” in September.”
In August 2006 the band released their debut EP entitled “Munich Angst” on Engineer Records which is about to be re-released through BASTARDIZED RECORDINGS in April 2007. The same month and label will give birth to THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT’s second release: “Munich Valor”. The new EP has been written and recorded in only 6 weeks. Both EPs will be released in a limited 2xCD-packaging.
September 2007 will see the release of THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT's first full length and Lifeforce Records debut "Decisions". The songs were recorded at Suiseidl Studios in Munich and mixed and mastered by K. Kohlmannslehner at Kohlekeller Studios. The album has guest-appearances by Geert van der Velde (ex-Shai Hulud / The Architect), Byron Davis (God Forbid) and Benni Buss (Flowing Tears). The artwork was once again created by Justin Kamerer (Angry Blue).
You can check out some of The Blackout Argument's material on their MySpace page.

Byzantine To Begin Recording, Break For Tour
BYZANTINE will tentatively enter the studio December 8 to record the follow-up to 2005's '...And They Shall Take Up Serpents' before taking a break from the recording process to support God Forbid for two weeks on a tour package also boasting Goatwhore, Mnemic and Arsis. Upon completion of the tour, BYZANTINE will return to the studio to finish recording. Production this time around will again be handled by Aaron Fisher and BYZANTINE for the yet-untitled full-length, due for a 2007 release through Prosthetic Records.
"We have so far 11 songs in the bag and most likely will have 15 penned by the time pre-production starts," vocalist/guitarist OJ Ojeda previously stated. "Normally we write 10 and use 10, but riffs are flowing like mad and all four of us are writing material this time, which has been very interesting. All I can say is if this album doesn't kick our first two albums' asses, something is wrong! Some songs are pure thrash, some songs are off time as hell and some songs are depressing and dark. This album WILL be our finest effort."
In other news, Byzantine will appear on the upcoming EyeHateGod tribute record, 'For The Sick: A Tribute to Eyehategod,' performing the track "Shoplift." The record is currently slated for a Feb. 20 release through Season Mist America.

God Forbid Cancels Canadian Tour
God Forbid has cancelled their weeklong Canadian trek as direct support to Protest The Hero. Their only remaining show for 2006 will be a headlining performance in Levittown, NY at Club Ritual on Dec. 8th. God Forbid will return to the road in 2007 for the "Chains of Humanity" tour with Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract and Byzantine in the support slots.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) states: "Due to an inability to come to an agreement over a discrepancy between the booking and announcing of a Toronto show on our on headline tour, God Forbid and Protest The Hero mutually decided it would be best if we didn't take part in the upcoming Canadian run. We are very disappointed that this couldn't be worked out, but we are still friends and fans of PTH and consider this just a postponement of future touring that I'm sure will be bigger and better. Again, we apologize to any Canadian fans who already bought tickets. We will be playing Toronto and Montreal as part of our headline tour with Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract and Byzantine, so we hope to see you all then."
God Forbid Working On "Chains Of Humanity" Video
God Forbid has teamed up with video production company MyGoodEye to work on a special video for the song “Chains of Humanity” in celebration of their upcoming headlining tour with the same name. The video will be comprised of footage and photos spanning their entire career, and will help launch GFTV, which is an upcoming project God Forbid is working on currently. The band, along with acclaimed director David Brodsky (God Forbid, Gwar, The Red Chord) are asking fans, friends, family and anyone else that has photo or video files having to do with God Forbid to share them for the project. It will be put together as a tribute and thank you to their fans that have supported them through the years. This is not limited to just photos or videos of God Forbid performing; any files involving them (parties, pictures with fans, etc.) are encouraged. Anyone interested in helping out can upload their files at www.mgenyc.com/godforbidupload.html.

The tour kicks off on Dec. 9th and wraps up on Dec. 16th and will be preceded by a GOD FORBID headlining show in Levittown, NY. Their complete touring itinerary is listed below.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) states: “GOD FORBID is very happy to announce this Canadian run with Protest The Hero and The Human Abstract. These are two of the most exciting and talented young metal bands around right now. It'll also be a great opportunity to play some towns in Canada that a lot of American bands don't get to play. Seattle Metal Festival Returns In 2007
Returning after a three-year hiatus, the Seattle Metal Festival will be on Jan 20, 2007, at The Showbox in Seattle, Washington.
This year’s lineup – a mixture of metal veterans from the US and abroad, as well as up and coming national acts - will be: Overkill, God Forbid, Destruction, Into Eternity, Ghoatwhore, The Human Abstract, Mnemic, and Arsis.
The festival is promoted by Frank Hetzel of Howitzer Productions and the main sponsor is Dragon Monkey Media. Hetzel is the creator of the Seattle Metal Festival and the Northwest Deathfest, as well as the promoter of many metal shows in the Seattle area.
“I put the Seattle Metal Fest on the back burner for a while because I felt that it should become a stronger festival- a show with great national metal acts that people would travel from all over the Pacific Northwest to see,” said Hetzel. “It took some time to work out the logistics for a festival of this size and with the help of Dragon Monkey Media; the show is coming together smoothly.”
Dragon Monkey Media LLC is a Northwest-based media company promoting local musicians and artists by providing an internet resource to allow them to showcase their artistic works through its associated record label, Hot Monkey Records, and its affiliated production company, Dark Angel Productions.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, November 11 through Tickets West (www.ticketswest.com) and The Showbox box office, as well as seattlemetalfest.com, Silver Platters in Seattle, and Scrape Records in Vancouver, B.C. The Showbox is located at 1426 1st Ave. in Seattle, WA (www.showboxonline.com, 206-628-3151). Tickets will be $25.00 advance and $30.00 day of show. This is an all ages event with alcohol available for purchase to those at least 21 years old with ID.
God Forbid Announce Tour and Plans for 2007
God Forbid have announce that they will be doing a short tour with A Life Once Lost at the end of this month. The tour will include a performance at the Saints and Sinners Festival taking place in Asbury Park, NJ. God Forbid guitarist, Doc Coyle, has posted the following update from the road:
“We are very happy to be home from a great European run. Heaven Shall Burn, Maroon, Cataract, Purified in Blood, A Perfect Murder and Narziss were all great people and excellent bands. Some of my personal highlights on the tour were the last show in Essen (the biggest show and the crowd was rowdy as fuck), Denmark (where we were fortunate enough to play with the legendary Entombed) and Austria (where fuckers just lost their minds).”
“There were plans in place for a U.S. headlining tour to close out the year, but it’s been rescheduled for Jan.- Feb. We want to do at least one more U.S. run before we start working on another album. What better way to come back than to play a long set with the biggest, most elaborate show that God Forbid has ever has done! We should have a concrete announcement in the coming weeks. There hasn't been an American tour since June, so we are raring to go. Speaking of shows, in addition to the Saints and Sinners Festival we have two shows with our good friends in A Life Once Lost and Diecast that same weekend. These will probably be our last shows of the year, so be sure to make it out.”
Confirmed dates with A Life Once Lost are as follows:
October 26 - Poughkeepsie, NY @ The Chance
October 27 - Orono, ME @ Ushuaia
October 29 - Asbury Park, NJ @ Convention Hall

Bleed The Sky Offers Update From The Road
Bleed The Sky guitarist Kyle Moorman offers this update from the road while on the Jagermeister-sponsored tour with Ill Niño, God Forbid, Silent Civilian and Eyes Of Fire:
"This is the BEST tour we've been on! We've done two shows in New York City and Boston and both nights were awesome. We're always pushing ourselves to be better, to find new stuff to do on-stage, to give it our all for our live shows, and crowds like that definitely give us the energy we need to do that! Cristian [Machado, lead singer for Ill Niño] has watched our set every night. It's very flattering to have someone appreciating our music like that, and we're still on the road with our great friends in Silent Civilian. They REALLY helped us out when the transmission on our van blew up in Albuquerque by taking a lot of our gear in their trailer so we could make it home. I'll say it again: This is the BEST tour we've been on!"
