Maryland Deathfest To Go On At Sonar As Planned

The Maryland Deathfest organizers report that "Sonar will be re-opening before MDF, and technically they already have."

As previously reported, the venue of the Maryland Deathfest was up in the air when Baltimore's Sonar nightclub failed to renew their liquor license and closed its doors.

The organizers futher commented: "These last couple of days have been incredibly confusing and stressful, but we are currently back to the regularly scheduled program. And don't worry, beyond plan B is a plan C, because that's how we roll. See you in a couple of weeks."

As such, the set times that were previously announced should now hold.

Maryland Deathfest 2011 To Change Venues

The ninth annual Maryland Deathfest has announced the final lineup and set times for the event. However, not long after announcing these details came word that the Baltimore venue, Sonar, unexpectedly closed its doors today. The festival organizers claim to have a backup plan that should involve little to no inconvenience to ticket holders (even those coming from out of town) and will be releasng more details soon.

Until then, the announced lineup and set times are as follows:

"This Comp Kills Fascists" Preview Tracks Online

In the tradition of the legendary "Cry Now, Cry Later" compilations of the 90's, PIG DESTROYER / AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED's Scott Hull has brought together some of the very best of today's underground grindcore, hardcore, and power violence bands making up volume one of "This Comp Kills Fascists."

The complete listing of bands included is: AGENTS OF SATAN, A.S.R.A, BRUTAL TRUTH, CHAINSAW TO THE FACE, INSECT WARFARE, KILL THE CLIENT, MAGRUDERGRIND, MAN WILL DESTROY HIMSELF, SHITSTORM, SPOONFUL OF VICODIN, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION, WASTEOID, and WEEKEND NACHOS.

A number of participants on the "This Comp Kills Fascists" compilation have posted audio previews of their new and exclusive tracks that will appear on the disc. MAGRUDERGRIND has posted "Burden," MARUTA "Chemical Tomb," A.S.R.A. "Pig Squealer," CHAINSAW TO THE FACE "Hating Life," WASTEOID "Bangover," TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION "a href="http://www.myspace.com/totalfuckingdestruction">Human Is The Bastard," and SHITSTORM "Brainwashed." And BRUTAL TRUTH, who's contribution is the first new material from the band in almost ten years, has posted the brand new track "Turmoil."

Additionally, the compilation's artwork has been unveiled at the comp's MySpace page.

"This Comp Kills Fascists" will see its North American release on July 8th, July 14th internationally with pre-orders being accepted now.
