Circus Circus Signs To CI Records
CI Records has announced the latest addition to the family in the form of Lancaster, PA's own Circus Circus.
Circus Circus frenetic sonic chaos - the product of guitarists Jason Terry and Justin Smith, vocalist Mike Williams, bassist Matt Glassmyer and drummer Evan Dyer - bucks like a wild, screaming animal. It's a sound that's hard to put one's finger on as it unfolds around you, but one that has drawn similarities to bands such as Fall Of Troy, The Blood Brothers and Every Time I Die. To oversimplify things - It's a sound that's too metal to be punk, but too punk to be metal.
The band will display this aural evasiveness when their debut full-length, "Brooklyn Nightlife," hits stores July 15th from CI Records.
"We feel like we achieved our goals with this record," says Williams of Nightlife. "We've put together a really solid album that shows who we are as a band. Now, for the foreseeable future, we'll spend our time on the road bringing those songs to people's ears."
Since solidifying in early 2006, Circus Circus have displayed the hardworking attitude sadly lacking in most young bands these days. Their band's self-released EP, "Hut Hut Hike," turned heads in 2007 and garnered the band "featured artist" status on Purevolume.com. Honing their chops on the road, the band has since toured constantly, compiling an impressive resume in the process. Reading through the ranks of artists Circus Circus has shared the stage with is like reading a who's who list of some of the underground's most popular bands - a register that includes the likes of Chiodos, Gym Class Heroes, Every Time I Die, The Bled, The Devil Wears Prada, Fall of Troy and August Burns Red.
Circus Circus will be on tour in support of "Brooklyn Nightlife" all summer long.
