Guitarist Andrew Mikhail and bassist Jason Jones of Chicago death metallers, Oceano, were involved in a van accident over the weekend. Both members luckily limped out of the accident with minor injuries, however their van and the trailer that was attached to it had flipped and is need of repair. Primary Wave Special Markets has announced the Horrorfest Soundtrack "8 Songs To Die For" featuring Ministry, Bleeding Through, Walls Of Jericho, Too Pure To Die, and more. The album was released on January 5th, 2009 on Amazon.com.
Debuting in 2006, Horrorfest, originally billed as 8 Films to Die For, is a one-week national film festival that celebrates all areas of the horror genre. In its first year, Horrorfest became the first film festival in history to break into the Top 10 at the national box office, grossing over $2.5 million with the film An American Haunting.
Based on the highly successful 8 Films To Die For series, Primary Wave will be releasing 8 Songs To Die For featuring songs inspired by the bloodcurdling movies that make up Horrorfest 2009 - the biggest horror film festival in the USA. The digital releases will include some of the best of metal and hardcore bands such as Clutch ("Mob Goes Wild"), Walls of Jericho ("The Prey"), Bleeding Through ("Death Anxiety"), Ministry ("Let's Go"), and Revolting Cocks ("Keys to the City"), among others.
The songs on the two soundtracks, were selected by Primary Wave's Jonathan Platt and Jonathan Miller who also produced by the successful Saw soundtracks.
Chicago deathcore metal band, OCEANO, are quickly gaining notoriety as the angriest band on the planet and now, it seems, their anger is starting to rub off onto their fans.
At the band's recent gig on December 10th at the Chenga 57 indoor skate park in Lorain, Ohio, the aptly-titled "Seasons Beatings" tour took a much more literal meaning. OCEANO got the crowd so worked up that a full-scale brawl erupted during the band's set, even forcing front-man ADAM WARREN to stop the band mid-song.
"Everyone was moshing and getting a little crazy - just like always;" says the former backyard wrestler. "There were these kids around the pit that kept getting hit and didn't like it too much, so they went after the kids who were hitting them. It kept going back and forth and more and more kids were getting involved each time." More...
TOO PURE TO DIE has posted 2 brand new songs online. You can check out "Confess" on their Myspace page and "Gotham City" on Trustkill. Both songs are from the upcoming album "Confess" due out everywhere on January 13, 2009.
Guitarist Jordan Peterson checked in to say, "We are very proud and excited to release our new album 'Confess' on January 13, 2009. We just posted the title track of the record on our Myspace and Trustkill has posted an additional song 'Gotham City.' We worked really hard on this album, and spent 6 months writing tons of songs and making sure we had the best album we could possibly make. We didn't want to write the same record over and over or jump on current trends in hardcore/metal. We wanted to do something fresh and combine influences from all different styles. It was awesome working with Zeuss and Jamey Jasta who brought a lot to the table. We look foward to 2009 and will hopefully see you on tour soon!"
Too Pure To Die tour announcements are exected soon.

Paul Zurlo comments: "We are all very excited to release the new songs we have been working so hard on! The album is a first time contribution for some of us and it has brought on a renewed energy. We incorporated elements of everything from melody and rock, to metal, and of course, breakdowns. There is a blend of something for everyone on this record! Lyrically it touches on real life situations and struggles that one would face on a day to day basis. I've never been one to write about getting my heart broken or whining about things no one gives a shit about. I've always preferred to "keep it real" and this new record is as real as it gets. We have very high expectations for the new material and feel it returns to where we came from but is also a step toward the future!"
The September Canadian tour slated to feature Emmure, Too Pure To Die, and Farewell To Freeway has been cancelled for undisclosed reasons.
Too Pure To Die comments: "Sorry to everyone in canada. I know this is the second tour we have been on up there that has gotten cancelled. This one is out of our control. Emmure can no longer do the tour so we are also forced to cancel. We will hopefully be finding another tour to do there soon!"

Too Pure To Die have announced a full US headlining tour with Beneath the Sky (Victory), White Chapel (Metal Blade), and Impending Doom (Facedown) starting this Friday! This tour will put them on the road with several noted death metal bands, and the diversity is a positive challenge, tells guitarist Jordan Peterson, "These bands are all on fire and we are looking forward to the diverse and enthusiastic audience." The band just finished up a tour with All that Remains, The Acacia Strain, and Protest the Hero, which was successful tells Peterson because, "We got a lot of new fans from this tour, all the metal kids that we were worried about totally loved us, and we had the crowd captivated. We could see the boost in our fan base by Myspace plays alone." These two tours are very contrasting in scope and audience, but that's what the band likes, tells Peterson, "Whether we are playing big venues with All that Remains or smaller places like VFW halls, it doesn't matter, we just love playing." A preview of Too Pure To Die's upcoming album 'Confidence and Consequence' is available at this location. The album will be in stores on November 20th.
Trustkill Records has announced the signing of TOO PURE TO DIE. The Des Moines, Iowa-based band has been building up momentum with its latest full-length release, "Confidence and Consequence" (Sumerian Records, 2006). The group has also been touring non-stop over the past year, with full U.S. and Canadian runs alongside such bands at AUGUST BURNS RED, MISERY SIGNALS, SWORN ENEMY, CALIBAN, KATAKLYSM and THE ACACIA STRAIN. They are about to start another full U.S. run with ALL THAT REMAINS this September running through October.
Since TOO PURE TO DIE released "Confidence and Consequence", it has added Paul Zurlo (formerly of BEYOND ALL REASON) on vocals. The band is rounded out by Jordan Peterson (guitar), Chris Towning (bass), Zach Johnson (guitar) and Kyle Rossi (drums).
Commented Peterson: "When I started this band one of my original goals was to be on Trustkill. I don't think we could make a better move than by joining forces." Trustkill president Josh Grabelle echoed the sentiments by saying, "There are some bands that get together and expect the world handed to them on a silver platter. Not TOO PURE TO DIE. These guys get out there and DO what other bands TALK about doing, they're running circles around most bands. I went and saw them play live with new singer Paul and was floored, they killed it. We are super-excited to see what the future holds for TOO PURE TO DIE!"
TOO PURE TO DIE is currently holed up in the studio re-recording "Confidence and Consequence" with new vocals from Paul and a previously unreleased track. The label aims to release the new version of the LP at the end of November. TOO PURE TO DIE is also working on material for its next album, tentatively due next summer.
Southern California hardcore group The Warriors will headline the "Borderline Insanity Tour" with support from First Blood, Too Pure To Die, and Since The Flood beginning June 8th. The trek will serve as a preview to their Victory Records debut, "Genuine Sense Of Outrage."
"Genuine Sense of Outrage" was produced by Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Motorhead) and features guest vocals by Motorhead's Lemmy Kilminster and Comeback Kid's Andrew Neufeld. "'Genuine Sense Of Outrage' touches base on many concepts including truths that reflect directly on our human condition as a whole," Warriors vocalist Marshall Lichtenwaldt says. "It's about stepping outside of ourselves and realizing that we are all the same. We are all enraged. This record is dedicated to those who truly embrace this culture and realize that these are more than words on a page." The album will hit streets in August, and the track listing is as follows: More...

Kataklysm has posted the following message on their official band web site:
"Hello everyone! Well another year, another x-mas... good times for some and for others, just a pain in the ass... But whatever it represents for each one of you, we wish you the best for this holiday season with your loved ones. In 2006, we in Kataklysm have had a great year and it is because of you - the fans. It's not about how much money or how popular you get, it's about each one of you that comes to our shows and understands what's going on and give us that energy. You make this worth every minute. You belong with us and together we will conquer all because as you are our remedy, we are yours, we help each other. Music is the key for survival. Without it, emotions are lost, thoughts are distorted and feelings gone. We create music but you are our inspiration... Cheers to all of you!
"2007 brings forth new challenges for kataklysm and we start with our beloved Europe. We invite all of our fans to come to the kataklysmic devastation in January. We are prepared, join us..."
