De Profundis Parts Ways With Drummer
British metallers, De Profundis, has parted ways with drummer Sterghios Moschos and have issued the following parting statement:
"We would like to thank Sterghios for all the hard work he has put into De Profundis. Following his move to Canterbury, it would no longer have been possible for Sterghios to rehearse and play shows with us frequently because of the distance involved. We wish Sterghios the best of luck in all his future endeavors."
"De Profundis are now seeking a new drummer. We are looking for a tight, creative player with solid double pedal skills, blasting ability and good compositional vision. Own kit and transport required. Studio and live experience preferred. Interested parties can contact us through our myspace page, website or directly via email at band(at)deprofundisdoom(dot)com."
"In the meanwhile, we will be continuing to work on new material for our second album, due to be recorded in January 2009. David Andrews has kindly agreed to perform with us live until we find a permanent drummer."
De Profundis Sign with Holy Records
London-based dark metal band DE PROFUNDIS has signed a deal with HOLY RECORDS for distribution of their debut album "Beyond Redemption" in France. The album was recorded and mixed by Steve Watkins at Warehouse Studios, Oxford and was mastered by Tim Turan, who has worked with such artists as OPETH, EMPEROR, DIMMU BORGIR and AT THE GATES.
DE PROFUNDIS's progressive approach to extreme metal has won praise with reviewers. Reviews for "Beyond Redemption" have been uniformly positive, with Chris Davison of live4metal.com calling it "engaging, atmospheric and supremely intelligent music... Unmissable throughout." Building on the traditionally crushing and eternally despairing sound of doom metal, DE PROFUNDIS has many genre-defying and unique touches to its sound, such as jazz-funk slap bass, black metal blast-beats and complex compositional arrangements featuring technical guitar solos. DE PROFUNDIS also boasts an original logo by none other than the black metal legend Christophe Szpajdel.
The deal with HOLY RECORDS culminates what has been an extremely productive 6 months since DE PROFUNDIS released its debut album in August 2007. It comes in addition to the USA distribution deal the band has secured with BANEFUL GENESIS DISTRIBUTION. More...
