Deadsy is celebrating the release of PHANTASMAGORE at home! The Roxy will host the band's record release show Monday, August 21, night prior to street date.
The band is currently touring the States as part of the Family Values Tour and most recently brought their signature "undercore" sound to unsuspecting crowds at Lollapalooza.
This sophomore LP is a graduation from 2002's COMMENCEMENT yet still doesn't stray far from the unique Deadsy mold. The mutant synthesis of '80s new wave and bubblegum death metal beloved by Deadsy's fierce cult following is much in evidence on the album, but so, too, is the strain of pre-punk glam art rock pioneered by Reed in the Velvet Underground. Stand out tracks like "Razor Love," a modernized synth-induced jam, complete with sing-a-long chorus and dueling guitars introduces the album and quickly takes a surprising turn with "Carrying Over," a 12-string acoustic-driven pop song, hinting at Labyrinth-era Bowie.
Deadsy is revered amongst their peers and fans alike as their shows are extraordinary exhibitions of sight and sound.
DEADSY, who are currently touring as part of the FAMILY VALUES TOUR 2006 on the 2nd stage, will be releasing their next effort entitled "Phantasmagore" through Immortal/Elementree Records on August 22. Those of you who wish to pre-order the disc, it will earn you an autographed copy of the album.
