Apothys Issue Another Studio Update

Springfield, Virginia thrashers, Apothys, issue the following studio update on their Myspace page:

"After waiting around for two weekends in the studio and being sick as hell with mild bronchitis, I really did not battle with boredom watching the guys nail out their tracks. I realized a few musical pieces I had not heard before. On the 24th of February, I finally got to start my vocals around 9:30pm. I was hoping I was ready for vocals and not be interrupted by phlegm fill fun. As if metal was my cure, I didn't have any problems with my vocal - matter of fact, it seems my vocals had progressed right there in the booth. I finished all my main vocals for all 3 tracks of the promo. This Sunday I have to fine tune some parts and add backing vocals. I really can't wait to show everyone Onslaught. We have been waiting for so long."

Apothys Issue Studio Update

Virginia metallers, Apothys, issue the following update on their Myspace page:

"Through close consideration and high demand from fans, Eventide Summoning has replaced Cacophony Rising on the Promo CD."

"The drums are now recorded for all three songs. The sound quality is spectacular! We can hear every single piece of Mason Grimm's kit and it is so thick and heavy. This is the exact sound we are looking for. Micah, the producer at Final Symphony Studios, is very easy to work with and is very knowledgable on what he does. We took pictures and they will be added to this blog very soon. This weekend coming up we will be recording the guitars, solos, bass, and vocals. See you in another week!"

Apothys Welcome New Drummer and Seek Bassist

Apothys issue the following update on their Myspace page:

"Today, the guys in Apothys has inducted their new drummer, Beau, into the band. With high dexterity, quick feet, and thunderous drum rolls, Beau is an excellent addition to the band. Already he knows five songs and counting. Its amazing the rate that he is learning the songs.

Unfortunately, we are now looking for a new bassist. Nick is persevering through college and striving for his bachelor's degree. We parted on good terms and he still remains a friend with the band. The requirements and recommendations pretty much stand the same with the bassist position as it did with the drummer position.

Apothys Holding Auditions for New Drummer

Apothys have posted the following statement regarding on their Myspace page:

"Through an unfortunate turn of events recently, Apothys is faced with the task of replacing their drummer. Auditions will start very soon.

Apothys is an established, original metal band out of the Woodbridge, Virginia area, and they have been generating a lot of buzz in the Northern, Virginia/Washington, DC area. They released a demo this past year that has garnered some great reviews, and is being played on several underground stations across the country, and a few overseas.

In the past year they have written more than enough material for a first album.

They are now faced with finding a new drummer, due to some unforeseen circumstances. If you are interested and feel up to the task, send a message from this site or the Apothys site. If you are not familiar with Apothys, check out the Cold Shot Productions site or the Apothys site to hear some of their music, to see if you can play their music, and to determine if it is the type of music you want to play and be part of."

Nevermore Wins Crowd at Jaxx in Springfield, VA

On Saturday May 6th, my friend, and I drove down to Virginia from northern New Jersey to see Nevermore, one of our favorite bands, headline at their one off show at the Jaxx with Evergrey the next day. We got to the show early to meet up with some friends, one of which is Will Bozarth from Distorted Mind, who assisted me during the interview process for my interview with guitarist Jeff Loomis (guitarist of Nevermore), since he knows the band from hanging out with them at previous shows. Will’s input added a new dimension to some of the questions and gave the interview a humorous edge. Sadly, I had lost the entire interview because of a technical accident with the recording equipment. Fortunately, I still have the questions and can hopefully recreate the experience on a later date. Interview troubles aside, in hindsight, this was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. More...
