Moonspell Reveal "Memorial" Cover & Tracklisting
Moonspell have posted a sample of the "Memorial" cover online. Check it out at this location. Moonspell are now finising the artwork for the booklet and for both editions of the DVD. The cover was chosen among countless projects because it symbolizes the deep nature of the band (South, blood, lunar side) and it is a strong and simple image just like the music contained on the record. The band went for red as the main colour because of the strong blood element present on the album.
"Memorial" will be released on April 24th in Europe and on April 25th in the USA. There will be two editions: one in a luxury digipack with a bonus unreleased song, the other on jewel-case.
"Memorial" final tracklisting:
In Memoriam
Finisterra
Memento Mori
Sons of Earth
Blood Tells
Upon the Blood of Men
At the Image of Pain
Sanguine
Proliferation
Once It Was Ours!

Century Media U.S. Office Celebrates 15 Years
Century Media has issued the following press release pertaining to their 15th anniversary of their US offices and planned reissues:
Century Media Records' U.S. office, relentlessly championing barrier-shattering music, celebrates its 15-year Anniversary in 2006. Quickly establishing itself as an incendiary musical force, Century Media brought its vision to North America in 1991 delivering its unique European style metal largely ignored by mainstream and underground labels. Tirelessly supporting a disappearing music scene, the label at once became a bastion for the artists creating extreme music and a haven for fans who found themselves disassociated , and thus Century Media generated a resurgence of the musical style.
To celebrate the anniversary, Century Media documents the past while pioneering the future. Commissioning a unique logo for its official releases and communications (as above) the label signifies the anniversary's importance. In the coming months Century Media plans new studio efforts from label heavyweights such as Lacuna Coil and Shadows Fall, and also to reissue early albums from artists who have helped shape their current distinctive image like: Nevermore, Strapping Young Lad, The Gathering, Iced Earth, Moonspell and Stuck Mojo. These reissued CDs will contain reworked artwork, new liner notes with artist comments, and bonus tracks. Passionately expressing songs with images, Century Media artists have been creating videos from the label's onset and two different DVD sets will be forthcoming chronicling these efforts. First off is Century Overload, 2-discs exploding with Century Media's more recent talent delivering musically as well as visually. The discs include over 60 different recently released videos from our current roster including God Forbid, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil and more. Due to incessant demand Century Media has compiled their three out-of-print VHS collections, highlighting the company's first dozen years, and combined them into their second DVD set the 2-DVD release entitled The Visual Experience. Finally, Century Media artists themselves have also contributed special recordings for a CD whose nature will be announced at a later date.
The flagship label of The Century Family, Century Media Records was founded in 1988. Its American branch opened three years later. With nine offices around the globe, the label employs more than 150 people worldwide. Featuring a rich catalog, the label's leading artists today include Shadows Fall, Lacuna Coil, God Forbid, Arch Enemy and Nevermore.

Moonspell Sign With SPV/Steamhammer Records
Portuguese metallers MOONSPELL have inked a three-album deal with SPV/Steamhammer Records following their split with Century Media. The band are currently recording their new album, entitled "Memorial", at the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen, Germany with producer Waldemar Sorychta (TIAMAT, SAMAEL, SENTENCED), who had worked with the group on their first three records ("Wolfheart", "Irreligious", "Sin/Pecado"). The recording sessions will last from November 1 to November 27.
"Memorial" will contain around 8 to 10 new songs, including "Once It Was Ours!", "Blood Tells", "Sanguine", "Finisterra", "Upon the Blood of Men" and "At the Image of Pain". The material is being described by the group as "the best music we ever wrote together" and "an homage to the Nineties scene and bands," of which they became a strong symbol of. A tentative spring 2006 release is expected.
With regards to MOONSPELL's long-awaited first DVD, "Lunar Still/13 Years of Doom", most of the contents are ready to go into production but the release was delayed due to legal issues which are taking a long time to be ironed out. Century Media will release the DVD sometime next year. In addition, new live dates are being booked for the next festival season, as are one-off shows in Russia and Morocco.
Guitarist / Producer Seeking Female Singer
Acclaimed guitarist/producer Waldemar Sorychta (LACUNA COIL, GRIP INC., TIAMAT, MOONSPELL) is seeking a female singer for a professional project in the "gothic rock/metal" vein. A record deal is said to be in the works for the as-yet-unnamed band, which will perform and record music composed by Sorychta.

Moonspell Working On New Album
Fernando Ribeiro, vocalist for Portugal's Moonspell, has posted the following message on Moonspell's official website:
I reckon May was left out in blank yet nothing really exciting happened anyway besides a few gigs and assorted practises so nobody missed much, really. In any case as I just finished Moon’s new calendar, filling all days up to the end of September (!), I felt it was high time to drop some words to our lunar Infernet community which has been restless these days with mostly petty stuff, unfortunately, that has not go unnoticed by anyone, to the despair of all.More...
Moonspell Check In From European Tour
Portugal's Moonspell have posted the following message on their official web site:
First off, we are cancelling our headliner show at Salon de Provence on the 23th of March due to low presale. We can not compromise the rest of the tour on the account of this and also it could come as a financial disaster to the promoter. So in hope we ever get there we might need a stronger fan basis in this location in France. The good news are that we are playing both dates in Paris at the end of this tour and also that we are confirming our presence in Rotonde Festival, Hirson, on the 21st of May. Also Moonspell will be playing on Nummmirock, Finland, on the 25 of June.
We will announce soon other further dates in Portugal and still under negotiation are other appeareances on festivals.
About the quite polemic who's playing first or last in Portugal and after many other comments in our forum, Moonspell would like to set the record straight. In all Europe, we were invited by Cradle of Filth to support them and that is what we are doing to the best of our conditions and regardless of those we are putting all our heart on the stage show and the reactions have proved fair so far.
In Portugal, Cradle of Filth will close the show by mutual agreement between bands and promoters. Goes without saying that our status in Portugal is different than in the rest of Europe but besides this status talk what it matters is that there are two bands which have proven themselves on the scene through the originality and quality of their music and that the Portuguese fans will even welcome a different show where Moonspell and Cradle of Filth will have equal conditions, equal stage times and equal full production on stage. That was the way found for both Cradle of Filth and Moonspell fans to enjoy this tour and both bands' show at their fullest. Not to mention equal willingness to bring a true experience to the Portuguese crowds as this country cherish so much both bands since we first played together in Lisbon, year 1994 (!) also the great the Haunted will share the stage with us, a concert not to be missed so show up in time will you!
Moonspell Start Up Street Team
Moonspell have issued the following statement reguarding their street team they have just set up:
"To whom it may concern...
Well we are kicking off our very first street team after observing the really important work that a great number of other alike teams have been doing for other bands around the world. The concept and ambition of a street team is to create a work of passion, that is, to support the band with simple yet concrete actions to help the band to spread out their name everywhere and to grow stronger in the eyes of fans.
There is not a corporate feeling behind this. Just a reciprocal chemistry between band and fans who will reward each other by letting each other participate more personally in Moonspell, the reason for this all. A street team is brought up by fans whose "work" is simply to talk about the band they are into, to spread information about concerts, tours, activities, merchandise, meetings, throughout all their contacts, friends and people who they feel would like to know more about the band. In trade they come closer into an active role, besides just listening and moving in the shadows of music. One can pass forth the under the moonspell feeling unto another and while he/she broadens the horizons for the band is also extending his/hers horizons in what it comes to friends, likings and experience in music.
A street team is not a fan club where you pay to have benefits. No! The lunar street team is a work of passion where you do on a more constant and organized basis what you do everyday: to talk about things you love and to share with those your reasons and perspectives for that passion.
Find us with the howling."

DevilDriver to be Filmed for HBB Episode
Former Coal Chamber front man Dez Fafara's new band DEVILDRIVER will be recorded in New York City on February 27th. The footage will be used in an upcoming episode of "Headbangers Ball" on MTV2. They will be playing Irving Plaza in NYC later that night with OPETH. The date for this footage to air is not known yet, but should be announced soon.
To add a little bit of my opinion to this article, everyone out there should check out this tour. OPETH is an extremely talented band, whether you like them for their raw metallic riffs, or for the pure genius and challenging intricacies put forth in their music. Along with DEVILDRIVER, MOONSPELL is also on this tour.
