Apiary Changes Name to Early Graves

Northern California's Apiary have changed their name to EARLY GRAVES and will be releasing a brand new album titled "We: The Guillotine" via Ironclad Recordings on August 19th, 2008. Two new tracks off the band's upcoming release have been posted to the band's new MySpace page.

Here's what guitarist and founding member Chris Brock had to say about the name change:

"We changed the name from Apiary to Early Graves for a pretty simple reason. The songs we had created on the road under the former name had nothing to do with the original Apiary and we needed a new name that was a better fit, and more relevant to who we are. We wanted a name that meant burning your wick at both ends. It also didn't hurt that there was no original members left and we didn't want to be that band." More...

Apiary Post New Song Online

Ironclad Recordings issues the following press release:

San Francisco, CA wrecking ball APIARY has put up a new pre production track entitled "Borrowed Teeth, Borrowed Claws" on their myspace page here. The track will be featured on their upcoming sophmore album, recorded by Steve Austin (Converge, Lamb Of God) in Nashville, Tenn. The album was recorded in early February and is currently being mixed. The song is the first to feature new singer Makh Daniels, guitarist Chris Brock, bassist Tyler Jensen and drummer Dan Sneddon.

Guitarist Chris Brock comments, "This is a rough demo of "Borrowed Teeth, Borrowed Claws" we did at our new bassist Tyler's house a little while ago. Its rough around the edges and not polished, but we think it rocks. Our new album sounds like the end of Robocop 2, only its Murphy taking 100 hits of Nuke and killing Cain, Lewis, OCP and the rest of Delta City. We are proud and cant wait for you all to hear it. Enjoy the demo!"

More info on the upcoming album title and future tour dates will be coming shortly.

Apiary To Record Album in February 2008

Apiary have tapped Today Is The Day frontman/recording engineer Steve Austin (Converge, Lamb of God) to helm their second album for Ironclad Recordings/Metal Blade Records. The band will enter Austin Enterprise in Nashville, Tennessee on February 11th, 2008 to begin recording their upcoming record. This will be the first album to feature new vocalist Makh Daniels, guitarist Chris Brock and drummer Dan Sneddon.

Song titles include:

"The Man in Black Fled Across The Desert"
"Borrowed Teeth, Borrowed Claws"
"Safety Net Acrobat"
"Hand over hand, with rope they wait below, sing me a song, sing me a song now, Jim Crow"
"My Wife, My Widow"
"First name: William. Last name: Porter. (Beware the low men in yellow coats)"

Guests set to appear on the record include Steve Austin, Dan Weyandt (Zao), and Aaron Hall (California Love).

Vocalist Makh Daniels says: "Steve Austin is the fucking man. Not only has he recorded some of our favorite releases, but shit man, that dude is insane. Literally. Hand stamped and everything. Have you ever heard Today is the Day? It sounds like a carnival getting torched during the goddamn apocalypse! There are even children still on the rides! That is some fucked up shit! He will probably make us eat glass and record underwater with Great White sharks and shit, I don't fuckin’ know. He will definitely take our new songs, which are way more punk and nasty, to a whole new level with his recording expertise."
