No Cure Premiere New Single & Music Video

Straightedge deathcore outfit No Cure has premiered a music video for their song “The Basement Beneath The Fountain,” which is set to appear on their upcoming EP, I Hope I Die Here. This band uses the EP as a conceptual homage to their home state of Alabama, embracing both its beauty and its darker undertones.

Vocalist Blaythe Steuer offered a cryptic comment about the track, which features Kayhan Vaziri (Wretched Blessing/Yautja):

“This is a normal song. Don’t worry about it. There is no reason to be alarmed. That’s just what it sounds like. 33.50074° N, 86.79610° W.”

For those curious, the coordinates point to the Five Points South fountain in Birmingham, AL—a location tied to the song’s themes. The fountain, commissioned by a grieving mother in memory of her murdered son, has a complicated history, including controversial allegations of ties to Satanic imagery.

The music video reflects this layered narrative, incorporating imagery of the fountain and its significance.

Now signed with SharpTone Records, No Cure will release I Hope I Die Here on December 6th. The EP is packed with collaborations from prominent figures in Alabama’s hardcore scene.
