Line-up Changes For This Is Hardcore 2008 Festival
Some bands have dropped off this year's This Is Hardcore Fest and the organizers have posted a message to explain why.
"108- These guys are great. Right now they have things to take care and are taking the remainder of the spring/summer off to handle business. Expect them back at full speed this fall/winter."
"SHATTERED REALM – Another band we were really looking forward to, but due to lineup changes will not be playing the fest. They will however be playing Pressure Fest in Germany with Original Singer Chris (of Suffer The Living)."
"STEEL NATION- With a split 7" in the studio their singer flakes out and leaves them stranded. Pauly Edge of Meltdown came to the rescue but ultimately they are without a singer right now. Hopefully they will have someone by August and will be playing the PRESHOW!!"
Some of the bands that are currently confirmed for the festival's lineup include:
ALPHA & OMEGA
CONVICTED
HARD RESPONSE
xKINGDOMx
MAXIMUM PENALTY
PAINT IT BLACK

Father Of Man Killed At Show Looking For Answers
C.T. Revere of the Tucson Citizen is reporting that the father of the man fatally shot outside a hardcore/metal show on December 7 in Tucson, Arizona has written a letter to Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup asking several hard questions: Why was his son portrayed as a "violent hoodlum" after being shot to death outside a youth club downtown?
Why did Tucson police give his son's girlfriend the impression that 27-year-old Ray Darrin Pierson "deserved to be dead" when they spoke with her outside Skrappy's nightclub?
And why, the grieving Tempe father asks, did he learn of his son's death through media reports and not directly from Tucson police?
The pain Jeff Pierson, 52, feels over the loss of his son is made greater by feeling that he is miscast in death.
"What I've read and what I've heard from his friends and those who were there just doesn't reconcile - nor does it reconcile with what I know of my son," Pierson said. "I don't believe what I've read in the newspapers, and I don't believe, necessarily, what I've heard."
There's not much police or reporters can do to ease the sense of loss and shock that accompanies a homicide, but leaving questions unanswered falls far short of that goal.
News reports focused on Darrin Pierson's affiliation with a group called FSU, which stands for "Friends Stand United" or an alternate phrase that refers to making a mess of things (Fuck Shit Up).
He also was part of "Team Loco," a Phoenix-area group started by friends with shared interest in extreme sports.
"I don't know anything about FSU," his father said. "Team Loco was started by a neighborhood friend as sort of an extreme sport clothing group. I think it's expanded to something more. It's a big group of young people, and I know a few of them. I can't imagine it being anything to do with harming other people."

Man Killed at Donnybrook, Shattered Realm Show
One man was shot to death and several others injured (one individual was hit in the head with a hammer) after a fight broke out during a show on The Street Brutality Tour featuring Shattered Realm, Donnybrook and Hoods in Tucson, Arizona last night. The incident occured at Skrappy's, which bills itself as an alcohol- and drug-free club for people under 21. Police said they have had few calls for problems there.
The man fatally shot at a music club last night as Ray Darrin Pierson, 27, of Mesa. Pierson was in Tucson to see Shattered Realm. He was shot outside the club after a fight involving at least 20 people inside the venue, said Sgt. Ramon Batista, a Tucson Police Department spokesman. Pierson died at a hospital. Several other people were injured according to Batista, but he declined to discuss details.
Homicide detectives are trying to interview everyone who was at the Shattered Realm show - up to 200 people. Detectives found a handgun outside the club, but won't say who was carrying it. No one has been arrested so far. Police are asking anyone who was at the show and anyone who may have information about the fight and shooting to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line of the Pima County Attorney's Office.
Several emails to Lambgoat.com owners suggest that the fight was between local hardcore kids and FSU members.
Skrappy's doors were locked this morning, and no one appeared to be inside.
