After eight years of silence, Brazilian death metallers SEX TRASH are back. The band quit in 1997 after the tragic death of lead vocalist Oswald Scheid in a car crash.
The band have just signed a deal with Cogumelo Records and are currently working on a new album. "There's a lot of crap [out there] today and we think that this 'old school' death metal is still good enouth to play and to listen [to]. So we decided to come back and here we are," drummer Quake said in a statement.
Last month, SEX TRASH opened for KREATOR in their hometown, Belo Horizonte.
SEX TRASH will enter the studio next month to begin recording their as-yet-untitled new album, tentatively due this summer.
The CD will be the group's first full-length studio effort since 1992's "Funeral Serenade". SEX TRASH's current lineup consists of Doom (vocals), Marck (Guitars), Kruegger (bass) and Quake (drums). An official web site will be launched soon.
