Blitzkrieg To Do Pre W.O.A. Irish Shows

Veteran British metallers BLITZKRIEG have posted this announcement on their official website:

"BLITZKRIEG play two shows in Ireland in July in preparation for the Wacken Open Air Festival. Friday, July 27 sees a return to Northern Ireland and the Rosetta Bar in Belfast (support comes from FIRELAND and RABID BITCH OF THE NORTH). Saturday, July 28 will see BLITZKRIEG play their debut in Eire. The show will be a pre Wacken party and will be at the Voodoo Lounge in Dublin."

BLITZKRIEG's new album, "Theatre Of The Damned", is scheduled to be released on August 10 through Armageddon Music. Here is the complete track listing:

Blitzkrieg Sign to Armageddon Music

Blitzkrieg have posted the following update on their myspace page:

"Armageddon Music have signed Blitzkrieg. The band is just finishing the new album called "Theatre Of The Damned" in the Absurd Studio in Hamburg, together with producer Schroedey. The Album will be co-produced by Biff Byford (Saxon). The band visited with Armageddon Labelmanager Sabina Classen at the Saxon Show last Thursday in Hamburg, Markethall.

Blitzkrieg is a band, which helped to start, how we hear Metal today, and is now back with a contempary classic Blitzkrieg record with songs, which will blow your mind. The new album is with a fresh sound of the year 2007, but maintance the essence of true british metal on it absolute best. The album will be released on 27th, July 2007and the band will also play live at Wacken Open Air 2007 on Thursday for the "A Night To Remember" show along with Headliner Saxon. Bloodstock Announce 2007 Indoor and Open Air Dates

Bloodstock has put to rest the rumors that Bloodstock 2007 was not going to happen and that the Indoor festival is being cancelled to focus purely on the Open Air festival by announcing the dates for both events next year.

Blitzkrieg To Play One-Off Date In Belfast

NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) legends BLITZKRIEG have announced a one-off gig at Rosetta Bar in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Friday, September 15. Support at the show will come from Belfast band FIRELAND and GAMA BOMB.

As previously reported, BLITZKRIEG will support German metal queen DORO on her U.K. dates in November. The details are as follows:

BLITZKRIEG's most recent album, "Sins and Greed", was released in July 2005 via Metal Nation Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Absolute Power" was recorded at Trinity Heights Studios in Newcastle Upon Tyne (U.K.) and features bass player Paul Brewis, who replaced Andy Galloway in early 2004. In addition, the CD marks Ken Johnson's first studio album following his performance on "Absolutely Live".

Blitzkrieg Guitarist Leaves Band to be Father

New Wave of British Heavy Metal band, Blitzkrieg, post an update on their myspace page regarding a line up change:
"BLITZKRIEG wishes to announce that Paul Nesbitt has decided to leave the band. Paul has recently became a father for the very first time and he feels that his time with the Krieg has come to an end.

On behalf of Brian, Phil, Ken and Paul Brewis we would just like to say that having Paul in the band has been an absolute honour and a privelige and the times we have all shared will remain with us for a very long time.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish Paul all the best for the future and would also like to thank him for the immense creative element he brought to the band.

BLITZKRIEG would like to welcome to the band our new guitarist Guy Laverick, Guy comes with a wealth of playing and writing experience having learnt his trade at the guitar institute of technology in Los Angeles, Guy has played with the likes of Paul Gilbert and Michael Angelo as well as a host of bands during his time in L.A., a full profile of our newest family member will be up soon."

Legendary NWOBHM outfit Blitzkrieg are currently hard at work writing and arranging tracks for their next studio release. The follow-up to 2002's "Absolute Power" is at present scheduled to be recorded in February 2005 for a spring release date. More information will be made available soon.

Satan Perform Live For First Time In 20 Years

A bunch of photos from legendary NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) band SATAN's one-off reunion show Friday (August 6) at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival have been posted online at this location (courtesy of Germany's Bright-Eyes.de).

SATAN's classic "Court In The Act" lineup (including BLITZKRIEG singer Brian Ross and SKYCLAD's Graeme English and Steve Ramsey) performed together at Wacken for the first time since 1984. A live recording from the group's early days, entitled "Live in the Act", is tentatively scheduled to be released later in the year.

In related news, BLIND FURY's only album, "Out of Reach" (1985), was re-released by Majestic Rock in early June. BLIND FURY was essentially SATAN with a different singer (Lou Taylor - vocals, Steve Ramsey - guitar, Russ Tippins - guitar, Graeme English - bass, Sean Taylor - drums).
