Gladenfold Debuts "Ghostlike" Music Video
Today, February 27, Finnish power metal / melodic death metal squad Gladenfold release their highly anticipated 4th studio album "Soulbound" via Reaper Entertainment. The band’s most ambitious work to date, "Soulbound" is a concept album loaded with epic grandeur, haunting melancholy, blistering aggression, and soaring melodies, all overflowing with raw emotion. Marking a bold leap forward in their musical journey, Gladenfold deliver their catchiest and most power metal-oriented album yet.
To celebrate the album’s release, Gladenfold have also unveiled a brand-new music video for "Ghostlike," the song that serves as the emotional and conceptual centerpiece of Soulbound. Musically and thematically, "Ghostlike" sets the tone for the entire album. Wearing their influences proudly on their sleeves, the track stands as a tribute to the band’s favorite early 2000s power metal classics. You can check it out below.
Guitarist Toke Gerdts comments on "Ghostlike":
"This song means a great deal to me and I might even say it is one of our best songs to date. On the surface, it is fairly straightforward, but it carries many layers — both within the album’s story and in the mix and arrangement. I put all my heart into the mixing and writing the solo for this song, so I’m extremely proud and happy to finally be able to share it with everyone." More...
Gladenfold Unveils New Music Video
Finnish melodeath/power metallers Gladenfold are going to release new studio album “Nemesis,” on April 29th via Reaper Entertainment. Now the band drops the second single and music video titled "Chiara’s Blessing," which showcases the musical diversity present on the upcoming album.
Keyboardist Paavali Pouttu comments:
"'Chiara’s Blessing' is a rich blend of emotional and melancholic soundscapes mixed up with pure fury and power. Although the song has changing moods and arrangements full of nuances, it has a straightforward drive to keep the listener on track. The title and inspiration for the song originates from a trip to Italy, Puglia region, where the song was written under the night sky, while hearing the waves of the Adriatic Sea hitting the coast. And just a week or two after this, Esko delivered his vocal demo with lyrics inspired by the song title. Hardly ever things just fall into place immediately with one go. This song is an exception." Gladenfold Posts New Music Video Online
Finnish Melodic Metal band Gladenfold are going to release their third studio album, “Nemesis,” on April 29th via Reaper Entertainment. As a kick-off, the band has released the first single and music video titled “Stone of Storms” and launched the album pre-order. You can check it out below.
Guitarist Toke Gerdts states:
"Like most great music, 'Stone Of Storms' came together rather quickly. Being one of the initial songs we demoed for the upcoming album, it has stayed largely the same since then. Out of the album singles, it is the one which owes the most to classic power metal, while being a modern take on the Gladenfold sound. This song is definitely going to claim its place in our live set, and we are eager to return to the stage and perform this song in the years to come."
Gladenfold Unveils New Album Cover
Finnish melodic metal band Gladenfold will release their third studio album, "Nemesis," on April 29th via Reaper Entertainment, this time reflecting on their melodic death metal roots, resulting in by far their darkest and most extreme album, both in terms of sound and atmosphere. Once again, with expansive soundscapes and versatile songwriting, the band delivers soft and delicate acoustic sounds, aggressive and fast-paced riffs, to grandiose and majestic parts and uplifting power metal moments, all characteristic of Gladenfold's sound repertoire.
The album was mixed by Juhis Kauppinen at ShedStudios and again mastered by Joona Lukala at Noise For Fiction. The stunning cover artwork is by Felipe Machano Franco, known for his work for bands such as Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, and Rhapsody Of Fire.
The band comments on the cover artwork:
"We wanted the album cover to reflect the dark and eerie mood of the album, which is present both musically and lyrically. Many of the songs are about self-reflection, about going into the dark regions of your own mind and discovering the existence of your own evil sides. Considering this, the cover should speak for itself. Felipe has truly nailed our vision with his craftsmanship.
"The first single and music video will be released on February 25. Stay tuned and get ready, because a storm is coming."
