Agent Steel To Enter The Recording Studio
California speed metal veterans Agent Steel has announced that they will be entering the recording studio soon to record a brand new album. A message from the band reads as follows:
"Thanks to those who came out to the D Club in Azusa, California for a evening or metal and trance music (yes....trance in the other rooms). The Metal was flowing at the D Club... Great live sets from COFFIN TEXTS, SADISTIC INTENT, and others guests all the way from Japan! Agent Steel hit the stage sometime after 1AM and opened with 'Know Your Master' off the Omega Conspiracy CD; next up was 'Evil Eye' followed by 'Children Of The Sun' both songs off the 1985 classic Skeptics Apocalypse release. We also performed 'Unstoppable Force' and 'Forever Black' before unleashing 'It's Not What You Think' (last time we played that was almost a year ago at the Graspop Metal Meeeting in Belgium; by this time the P.A. was falling apart the sound deteriorating from a night of pure molten metal by all the bands; we did manage to play 'Fashioned From Dust' off Alienigma (Mascot Records) release and then the P.A. main vocals went out; we did manage to finish it up with 'Bleed For The Gods' with Bruce (Hall - vocals) orchestrating the vocals to the crowd! A shorter set than normal but not as short as the legendary Athens, Greece (five-song set ). We will schedule another Los Angeles show under better conditions and a properly working P.A.; special thanks to Emilio (System Hardcore) for making the show happen and also congratulations on your anniversary! We are planning on entering the recording studio in the next two weeks to track a few new songs for demo purposes for our label, management, and we will stream it as well for all of you guys to check out once we are finished with recording. Whiplash Confirmed For Jalometalli Festival 2009
Reunited New Jersey thrashers WHIPLASH have completed tracking the much anticipated "Unborn Again" full-length album at Mozart Studio with world-renowned engineer / producer Harris Johns (Sodom, Kreator, Helloween, Sepultura, etc) and are set to fly to Berlin on April 13, 2009 where the mixing and mastering process will take place at Spiderhouse Studio.
The album artwork and final tracklisting will be announced shortly.
In other news, WHIPLASH has been confirmed for this year's Jalometalli Metal music festival, set to take place August 14-15, 2009 at Club Teatria in Oulu, Finland.

American metallers Agent Steel has posted the following message online:
"Just wanted to say thanks to all who showed up last night to the Black Castle in not so great neighborhood, California! You Guys own!!! Los Angeles' thrash metal scene kicks ass! Very intense crowd last night and a good door count considering the state of the economy and BRUJERIA playing the same night! Once again thanks to you all!! You guys make it all worth it. A big thanks to Hatewar Productions, AGONY, DREAMS OF DAMNATION, EXMORTUS, DISMANTLE, SCRAPMETAL, and all the bands, and of course The Black Castle crew and staff. We had a great time!

Agent Steel Begins Writing New Material
American metallers Agent Steel has posted the following update online:
"We recently moved in to a new rehearsal studio in Los Angeles and we've been busy writing; some real good song ideas coming along; we'll keep you updated as the songs develop.
"We have an upcoming show at the end of this month at the Black Castle in Inglewood on Saturday, November 29th also on the bill will be EXMORTUS and DREAMS OF DAMNATION, SCRAPMETAL, DISMANTLE and others!!! Should be a kick ass show.
"New Agent Steel merchandise coming soon to retail stores in the UK. There's also some negotiations going on for some possible Agent SteelEuropean festival appearances for 2009."
Anger As Art Readies to Record
LA-based trash band vocalist, Steven Gaines of Anger As Art, gave the following pre-production update on Anger As Arts upcoming release:
"Looking at the calendar - exactly one year ago today we were finishing up a run through the mountain time zone with headlining date in Salt Lake City. Little did we know that it would be Mars last show, but shortly afterwards Dave Chedrick came into the fold and started to push us a little angrier. Enter Angelo Espino, and a lot heavier. Supporting Testament, Laaz Rockit, and Agent Steel (yes again - but we love them - they are family) 2 more west coast runs, one run to the midwest, and even over to Europe, a last show in Los Angeles - and now it is over. Here we sit exactly one year later wondering where the hell the time went - and honestly, we aren't even the busiest band out there."
"As I type this - I reflect on the 4 year history of Anger As Art - specifically all of the people who tried to keep this band from happening. DEATHRIDERS has posted a second new song, "Riders Of The Apocalypse," available for streaming on MySpace.
DEATHRIDERS new album "Back With A Vengeance" is currently being recorded and mixed by Ken Orth at Alpine Sound in Mesa, Arizona. "Riders Of The Apocalypse," which is a rough mix, is a new song from DEATHRIDERS forthcoming album "Back With A Vengeance." All Words and Music by Neil Turbin. DEATHRIDERS have already been performing the song live at festivals and concerts in Europe, Japan and the US. At War Confirmed For Headbangers Open Air Festival
At War will be playing this years Headbangers Open Air Festival in Hamburg Germany on July 15th along with Exodus and Sodom. At War will also be making it's first appearance in Mexico at "Circo Volador" in Mexico City with Agent Steel on July 19th. At War will also be releasing their first Live DVD, entitled "Live at the Norva," on May 28th. This DVD includes all the classic songs from "Ordered to Kill" and "Retaliatory Strike" plus two brand new songs from their upcoming CD, "Infidel." Steel Prophet Complete Work On Two New Songs
California metallers STEEL PROPHET — who were rejoined by vocalist Rick Mythiasin a year ago — have issued the following update:
"The band has finished all instrumental and vocal tracks for two songs. The songs are tentatively titled 'Transformation Staircase' and 'Trickery of the Scourge'. Sessions took place at Horacio's [Colmenares, guitar] studio in La Puente and the band was very pleased with the results."
"A preliminary mix of one of the songs will be made available on the band's MySpace site in the near future. The songs are similar in nature to material from 'The Goddess Principle' and 'Dark Hallucinations'. The band is also starting rehearsals for their appearance at the 2008 Swordbrothers Festival September 13th in Andernach, Germany. STEEL PROPHET is the headline act for the festival." More...
Graspop Announce Saturday Headliners
Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting have announced the days for the announced lineup so far. In addition to this, they have announced that KISS will be headlining on the saturday, adding to the already exciting headliners of Judas Priest on friday and Iron Maiden on sunday. If that wasn't intense enough, they have also announced that Agent Steel, Tesla and Rose Tattoo will join the ranks.
