Finnish metallers SILENTIUM have issued the following brief update:

Finnish metallers, Silentium, have issued the following update:
"After a while of silence the band has retired to a studio in Central Finland. At this point the drums, the bass and most of the guitars have been recorded. Some of the vocals have been recorded as well, although Riina and Matti are due to return to the studio in July. The band has some major surprises reserved for their loyal fans, who have been more than patient in the wait for the new album. All the Silentians agree that the new material is the most impressive up to date! Prepare yourselves for a massive music experience. This fall, Silentium will be back, more powerful than ever!"
"Dead Silent", the new video from Finnish atmospheric doom metallers SILENTIUM, can be viewed here. The track comes off the group's "Seducia" album, which was released in January 2006 via Dynamic Arts Records. The CD was the sequel to the "Frostnight" single, which came out in October 2005. According to a Dynamic Arts press release, the album "delivers bombastical, cold atmospheres" with a total running time of 48 minutes.
"Seducia" was the group's first full-length release to feature vocalist Riina Rinkinen, who joined the group in July 2004.
SILENTIUM keyboardist Sami Boman earlier in the month issued the following update:
"It's about time to get busy again. The new material for the next SILENTIUM album is starting to get its final shape. Still much training to do, but the writing is almost done. By the end of this year we all should have a complete album in our hands. I have to say I'm more pleased with the new material, than I have ever been before. In my opinion the most relevant thing is that I don't have to carry all the weight of the composing on my own shoulders anymore." More...

"I'm really thrilled and excited by the fact that Juha [Lehtioksa, guitar] has returned to writing new material for the band and is by the way responsible for the most part of the new compositions. That means killer riffs and extremely moody passages. The good old days are back! I'm also happy, that Riina [Rinkinen, vocals] has written her own material, that will be heard on the album too. All this has enrichened the band's sound to a completely new level. Now I don't have to arrange by force every single idea (even the more poor ones) that comes to mind to suite the new album but we are able to choose only the most shimmering jewels that will end up on the final cut." "Now (we) are getting things roll again with the new band members Riina Rinkinen (female vox) and Jari Ojala (drums and yes, he's the very same man they begun Silentium with...) and I have to admit, the sound is better than ever. It could take a while before we see them on stage, but don't be hasty, your patience shall be truly rewarded. Silentium is also rehearsing new material and songs to play."
Silentium's last record, "Sufferion - Hamartia Of Prudence', was issued by Spikefarm Records last October.
