Despised Icon Prepare To Record New Album

DESPISED ICON have posted the following update:

"We've been taking some time off to finish writing new songs, things are looking good for 2007 with a new album around April/May and of course some good tours to promote this new release. The Monsters Of Mayhem tour was a huge success for us, special thanks to Matthew "Woody" Woods who's been behind the board every night we played, we wish him good luck and hope to work with him again in the future. Hail to all the bands we've met and hanged out with on this crazy run: THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, FIRST BLOOD, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS and the mighty HATEBREED. With just a month to go before recording, we will not play any shows 'till the album is recorded and mixed which will bring us back on the road in March. Till then, keep it brutal!"

"We are really proud to welcome our really good friend Kevin McCaughey to the Ion Dissonance family. Things are going really well so far with him on vocals, Kevin played a few shows with us already and his vocals fit perfectly with our music and what we were looking for. We would like to thank everyone who tried out for us and would like to wish them good luck in their projects. Otherwise, we are currently writing our 3rd album right now and it's going really well so far, we have a lot of new stuff already and all we can say is that we feel it's some of the best stuff we have ever written. We just announced our final tour dates for 2006 and after that we'll finish tightening things up to record it next spring. More updates coming soon about the recording."

Despised Icon Prep For Monsters Of Mayhem Tour

The Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON will embark on the massive Monsters of Mayhem tour on Sept. 1st, which features Hatebreed, Black Dahlia Murder, Napalm Death, Exodus and First Blood. This is the group’s sixth tour in support of their highly acclaimed album, The Healing Process, which is a relentless slab of sheer aggression matched with impeccable time changes that quickly raised the bar for their peers. They completed a very successful run on the Monsters of Chaos tour with Morbid Angel and labelmates Behemoth and Krisiun this past spring and look to further establish their position as one of the genre’s most devastating new acts with this upcoming trek.

DESPISED ICON shot a video for the track “The Sunset Will Never Charm Us” with acclaimed director Jean - Philippe Bernier (A Perfect Murder) and you can check it out at the link below. mms://mp3.centurymedia.com/stream/despisedicon_thesunsetwill.wmv

Alex Erian (vocals) further describes his thoughts on the upcoming tour: “We can’t wait to hit the road again and tour with Hatebreed, The Black Dahlia Murder, Napalm Death, Exodus and First Blood. This tour is seriously a dream come true for us. It will be our sixth tour in support of The Healing Process and most likely will be our last one this year, so make sure you show up early to check out our set. Our last show this year will be at the Saints and Sinners Fest in NJ with Killswitch Engage, ALOL, FASSW and more. We’re almost done writing our next album and will start the recording process in January. Expect to hear our fastest blast beats and our heaviest breakdowns ever. For those of you who keep asking about DI merch, we’re finally going to have t-shirts and zip-ups for sale online on indiemerchstore.com in September. Hope to see you all soon.”

Hatebreed Plan Headlining Tour After Ozzfest

Hatebreed will headline a full U.S. tour set to commence in September and run through October. The bill will feature support from the Black Dahlia Murder throughout, plus Napalm Death, Exodus, First Blood and Despised Icon. "We've never gone out on a headline run immediately following Ozzfest, and we've always wanted to, and we always felt we needed to, but there were always plans that superseded that," frontman Jamey Jasta said. "We're taking out a very extreme bill. We're going to call it maybe the Monsters of Mosh, something crazy like that. But it will be a good way for us to give back to the underground, extreme scenes, and also for us to go out and headline for the first time in a long, long time and do a full hour-and-a-half set with our new staging and new gear."

The Masters Of Chaos Tour Report

Last Saturday, April 8, was the day of the Worcester stop of the Masters Of Chaos Tour. Before the show I was dreading that if not enough tickets were sold, the Palladium owners will pull up a last minute change of floors ( upstairs, instead of downstairs) like they did last year for the Behemoth/ Suffocation show- not that upstairs is bad but there’s no photographers pit which would result in poor quality pictures from the side of the stage. Thankfully, my fears were put to sleep when I got there, the venue was full of enthusiastic metal fans. What an amazing night for metal that was. More...

TTEOTD To Support Children of Bodom, Chimaira

South Carolina's death metal road warriors Through The Eyes of the Dead have been confirmed as support for Children of Bodom's upcoming North American tour. Also featuring Chimaira and God Forbid on select dates, Through The Eyes of The Dead will round out the tour's lineup on 18 of the 19 dates across the US, joining up on March 19.

This tour is the latest in a string of live dates and tours Through The Eyes of the Dead has been a part of since the release of the band's Prosthetic Records debut, Bloodlust.
