Hacktivist Posts "Hyperdialect" Music Video Online

UK grime-metal quintet Hacktivist have released a video for their crushing new single "Hyperdialect," the title track from their eagerly anticipated new album, due for release on 18th June via UNFD. The single features a guest appearance from Aaron Matts, vocalist of ten56. and former vocalist of Betraying The Martyrs. You can check out the video below.

Co-vocalist Jot Maxi comments:

"This single is about trying to describe our signature sound and how we use it. If our band was a comic book hero, then 'Hyperdialect' would be their weapon or superpower! It's our method of attack, our way of putting our governments and mainstream medias in the crosshairs. But rather than brute force we use 'Hyperdialect' to strike back.

"Technically you could say that all Hacktivist music is 'Hyperdialect'. That's one of the reasons we also chose it as an album title, this song then stands as an autological explanation of itself as a theory."

Aaron Matts adds:

"Being a part of Hacktivist's hard-hitting movement was a task that I took huge pleasure in; when the band briefed me on the track and its meaning, we were still in a pool of uncertainty in the process of ironing out what Brexit would mean to us all. As a British musician living overseas, this was the perfect opportunity for me to focus my frustration and upcoming hardships concerning the situation, and I'm incredibly proud of the result and to be a part of Hacktivist's legendary legacy." Leprous Reveals New Album Details

Creative Norwegian rock outfit Leprous are pleased to announce the release of their new studio album "Aphelion," coming August 27th, 2021 worldwide via InsideOutMusic.

Following up on 2019’s highly acclaimed "Pitfalls" album, Leprous recorded "Aphelion" throughout the last year at three different studios: Ghost Ward Studios in Sweden, Ocean Sound Recordings in Norway and Cederberg Studios in Norway. The album was once again mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, etc.), mastered by Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Placebo, The Gaslight Anthem, etc.) and its front cover artwork - designed by Elena Sigida, based on photography by Øystein Aspelund - can be seen above.

Leprous vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg checked in about "Aphelion" as follows:

"We had no plans to start with a new album, then came Covid. 'Aphelion' is a very different album. It's intuitive and spontaneous. We've experimented with many completely different ways of writing music and explored new ways to work. There has been no room for overthinking, exaggerated perfectionism or carefully planned songs. I believe this is one of the strengths of this album. It feels alive, it feels free and it does not come across as too calculated.

"The album was recorded in three different studios, and a few of the songs were actually recorded in all three studios, Ghost Ward Studios, Ocean Sound Recordings and Cederberg Studios.

"The aphelion is the point in the orbit of an object where it is farthest from the sun, and it has a symbolic value which I will leave to your own interpretation."

Look out for the album pre-order to start on June 25th, 2021, enhanced by the release of a new single!

Van Canto Posts New Lyric Video Online

Germany's most thundering voices Van Canto recently set free their eighth studio album, "To The Power Of Eight." Now the world's most exciting acapella metal masters follow up directly and release the snappy anthem, "Dead by the Night," along with a rousing and atmospheric lyric video.

Van Canto on "Dead by the Night":
"After the rather soundtrack-like intro 'To the Power of Eight', 'Dead by the Night' is the actual opener of the album. We wanted to show everything that is possible with three lead singers right at the beginning. The result is an uptempo power metal song with Rakkatakka-riffs, big melodies and a huge background choir. All this comes along with a very positive message that points out how important it is to enjoy the moment. In the end, we all can be dead by tomorrow (or by the night!)." More...

Jeff Loomis Joins Graham Bonnet's Alcatrazz

Former Rainbow vocalist Graham Bonnet has announced that Arch Enemy guitarist, also known for his tenure in Nevermore, has joined his version of Alcatrazz. A statement from the vocalist reads as follows:

"Hi all! Graham here. The cat's out of the bag! It is with tremendous pride and excitement that I am announcing that Jeff Loomis (currently with Arch Enemy, formerly of Nevermore) is officially the new guitar player of Graham Bonnet’s Alcatrazz. Jeff is a power-house of a musician, a brilliant writer and a great guy. His skills are unparalleled and I am thrilled at the prospect of recreating the magic of the early days of Alcatrazz but with a modern, heavier sound. When I first heard Jeff, I was astonished by his technique coupled with his great feel and incredible melodies. You can have a little taste of it on the upcoming Graham Bonnet Band album as Jeff is one of our guests.”

Says Loomis: "Hey everyone, I’m super excited to be working with Graham Bonnet. I’ve been a long time fan of his vocals and lyrics for many years, and it’s going to be an honor to craft some amazing music together and play some select live shows. I want to let you all know I’m still a very active member of Arch Enemy and will be seeing you all on the road very soon with them."

Bonnet continues: "Just to be clear, Jeff is still an active member of Arch Enemy as I am still with the Graham Bonnet Band. More news coming soon..."
