Denouncement Pyre Signs With Agonia Records

Agonia Records has announced the signing of Australian black/death metallers, Denouncement Pyre. The band is currently working on its fourth album, the follow-up to "Black Sun Unbound" from 2016.

Denouncement Pyre was established in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, as an underground black/death metal act. Prior to signing with Agonia Records, the band released a string of various EPs & 7”s, and conjured three full-length albums through Hells Headbangers Records. Amidst extensively touring throughout their native Australia, they brought their live show to New Zealand and USA, during Maryland Deathfest in 2016.

"Denouncement Pyre stands for the destruction of the limitations of man," comments D (guitar & vocals). "Drawing inspiration from the darkness that lurks beyond the boundaries of flesh and mind. Through doorways to Daath. Forever unbound!"

On the new record deal, D adds: "We are stoked to be joining forces with Agonia Records for our forthcoming album. So far the recording sessions for the new record have been the most intense yet. With ever burning hunger we look forward to unleashing this beast upon you all soon!"

Pain Posts New Music Video Online

Pain, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Peter Tägtgren, has revealed the band’s first original song in 5 years: "Party In My Head." Blending 80's synth, electro, and metal, Pain delivers one hell of an anthem providing a powerful sonic vaccine against the distress and depression caused by the worldwide pandemic.

Peter Tägtgren comments, "I decided to write a song about all the bullshit from the last year of lock-up and people’s struggle, including my own, to adapt to the new way of life. Suddenly, all of us had to deal with our inner selves in our secluded new life, so this is the cheer-up song for people. Each of us has our own party in our head. Musically, it’s a hell of a party song. I can’t wait to play it live."

The video features a guest appearance by Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Deep Purple) and the return of the Alien from Pain’s biggest hit "Shut Your Mouth." More...

Ex Deo Reveals New Album Details

Four years after the release of "The Immortal Wars" (2017), Juno Award-nominated Ex Deo returns with more massive, brutal soundscapes than ever on their highly anticipated upcoming full-length album, "The Thirteen Years Of Nero," out August 27, 2021 via Napalm Records! The Canadian unit is led by founding frontman Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm) and producer/guitarist Jean-François Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index, Despised Icon), with the stylings of Stephane Barbe (Kataklysm) on lead guitar, Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc.) on drums, Dano Apekian (Ashes of Eden) on bass and Clemens Wijers (Carach Angren, Lindemann) manning the intense orchestral score.

On "The Thirteen Years Of Nero," the Roman Empire inspired symphonic death metal band transports the listener back to Ancient Rome with 10 cinematic masterpieces that tell the emotional, conceptual story of the reign of Emperor Nero. Accented by sounds of ancient instruments like lyra and harp and detailing the harrowing stories of Nero’s surroundings, close allies and enemies, listeners will connect with intense psychological tones of political turmoil and paranoia!

Today, Ex Deo has revealed a bludgeoning brand new track from "The Thirteen Years Of Nero," entitled "Imperator," alongside a brutal, cinematic music video. The track connects with a colossal, threatening introduction before slithering into its verses with low guitars, trudging drums and haunting, multi-layered vocal passages.

Frontman Maurizio Iacono says about "Imperator":
"We wanted to release a heavy hitting first single and there was no doubt that “Imperator” in all of its grandiose aura and power was the choice. On the album, the song introduces Nero as the new Emperor of Rome. For the video, we used acclaimed video director Scott Hansen and together we recreated a dinner party in true Nero style like you never seen before, you have been warned!" More...

Fleshcrawl Vocalist Passes After Cancer Battle

Sven Groß, the vocalist of German death metal veterans Fleshcrawl since 1997, has passed away at the age of 44, a year after being diagnosed with cancer last year. A message from drummer Bastion Herzog reads as follows:

"Svenson,

"It is hard to find the right words in situations like this one. Probably even impossible. For me personally this really is a hard thing to get over. We knew each other for more than 25 years.

"Haven't been many days during this period where we did not spend time together talking, writing, discussing, partying, drinking, BBQ-ing, making plans, playing shows, rehearsing, travelling, waiting in countless backstages or whatever. You're gonna leave a big gap right here in my heart which cannot be filled anymore.

"Thank you for having been a real friend, one of the most precious human beings this planet had to offer and of course a really awesome and iconic frontman, bandmate and hell of a vocalist of FC. I truly enjoyed each and every second watching you go berserk on stage as a real warrior of death while I was beating the shit out of all those drumkits behind you! Thank you for the great ride!

"You always lived life to the max, keep on doing it whereever you are now. We'll rock on again together on the other side - someday. And I'll make sure to bring some Wasseralfinger.

"My deepest condolences go out to Sven's wife Dany and both of their families." More...
