Subway To Sally Uploads New Live Video

When two greats of the German folk rock and medieval scene get together, there’s nothing but magic taking place - not even a prevailing pandemic can change that! Today, Subway To Sally drop their captivating performance of the Saltatio Mortis hit "IX," cut from the band’s upcoming, unique Blu-Ray/DVD/CD highlight, "Eisheilige Nacht - Back to Lindenpark," out June 18, 2021 via Napalm Records.

The original song can be found on the Saltatio Mortis full-length "Das Schwarze Einmaleins" (2013) and is now captured for eternity, presented by both bands as an exclusive version on "Eisheilige Nacht - Back to Lindenpark."

Subway To Sally add:
"We covered ‘IX’ and put it into our very own Subway To Sally version. Our long-time companions from Saltatio Mortis wanted us to cover the song for a bonus CD that’s part of their album 'Zirkus Zeitgeist' (2015). Within a short time, the track became very popular amongst our fans and even pushed a few of our classics out of our streaming top 5 temporarily. After a joint tour playing the track together with Saltatio Mortis, we enjoyed it so much that we decided to keep it in our regular live set for some time. Or in other words: a Saltatio Mortis cover version became part of the Subway To Sally set! I don't think there can be a better alliance within our scene and so we were really looking forward to performing the song again with our friends at Eisheilige Nacht - Back to Lindenpark." More...

Silver Talon Releases New Lyric Video

The Portland-based dark power metal group Silver Talon has unveiled the music video for "Kill All Kings," the latest single from their forthcoming full-length debut album "Decadence And Decay." The song showcases the guitar wizardry of Bryce VanHoosen (ex-Spellcaster) and soaring vocals of Wyatt Howell. The lyric video – which was produced by Ecliptic Visions and Sound, and which premiered yesterday via MetalSucks – can be viewed below.

"Decadence and Decay" – the long-awaited follow-up to the band's acclaimed 2018 debut EP, "Becoming A Demon" – will be released on May 28. Pre-orders for digital, CD, cassette and limited-edition green smoke vinyl copies of the album are available now at smarturl.com/silvertalon

Says VanHoosen, "‘Kill All Kings' is an anthem dedicated to eliminating anything opposed to achieving one’s true will. It’s about rejecting the easy life of royal comfort (or the servitude of modern neo- feudalism) and putting your neck on the line to embrace a life on your own terms. Not only that – it’s guaranteed to be stuck in your head for days. Who knew apostasy could be so much fun?" More...

Alastor Posts New Music Video Online

Swedish rock band Alastor share the first video from their forthcoming album "Onwards And Downwards" today via Brooklyn Vegan. Watch/share "Death Cult" video below or by clicking here.

Excelsior! It‘s the hail of yore that one should go ever onward and upward. And so, fittingly Onwards and Downwards is the occultist Swedish band Alastor‘s clever call to arms… and also a reflection of our collective dark state of mind these days.

"If our last album 'Slave to the Grav'e were about death, this record is more about madness," says guitarist Hampus Sandell. "You can look at the whole record as one person‘s gradual slip into insanity. An ongoing nightmare without end. It also sums up the state of the world around us as this year has clearly shown."

Alastor is heavy doom rock for the wicked and depraved. Drenched in heavy, distorted darkness and steeped in occult horror that will make your skin crawl and ears cry sweet tears of blood, the band is revitalized in 2021 with meticulously crafted songs and new drummer Jim Nordström bringing a hard-hitting and precise energy. Kitchener-Waterloo Metal Cover Comp Exclusive

Canadian rockers Invicta, Æpoch, Cathartic Demise, Raider, Rippr'd and Stolos have teamed up for a blast of a covers album of such classic bands as: Judas Priest, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Exodus, Death and Venom.

On May 7th, 2021, the bands will release The Kitchener-Waterloo Metal Cover Compilation, featuring metal artists from all around the Kitchener/Ontario, Canada area. By combining their own respective genres, from black to thrash and everything in between, with the original tracks, the bands have created a unique and intricate sound that incorporates both the core elements of each track and their own creativity. For the album, each band chose songs to cover that held particular meaning to them.

Kyle Edissi of Invicta says of the album: “We decided to do the covers because we are all friends and wanted to collaborate on a fun project that is also sick. We all rehearse in the same building and a lot of us have played in each other's bands. We thought it would be a good showcase of the local talent we have in the area.

We wanted to pick old school metal songs we all liked that were also suitable in style for each band. It's our best effort to pay tribute to the 80's and early 90's metal that influenced each of our bands." More...
