Hollenthon Bassist Comments On Leaving The Band

Former Hollenthon bassist Gregor Marboe has issued the following statement about his decision to leave the band:

"It is obviously always hard to take certain decisions. After having been part of Hollenthon for two and a half years I needed to take this very step and call it quits. Considering the fact, that before Hollenthon was revived, I played together with Martin in Pungent Stench, makes it an even longer period of collaboration. This, of course, does not make any decision easier. Primarily I cannot satisfy the band's time requirements at the moment because of personal reasons. Besides, I felt the growing urge to move on as a creative being and re-focus on my own creativity. Thus, it was about time to turn the page in my musical life and face a new chapter.

"As for Hollenthon, I wish the guys the best for their future! As for me, I had the opportunity to play some excellent shows, meet great people and make some good friends all around the place. I will meet you guys again and I hope to be rocking out where ever my further musical life is going to take me. That may possibly be the only thing to promise - my musical life definitely is not over!"

"That's over... After 17 years, Cindy and I have decided to put an end to Hypnosis. It was not an easy decision to take, and however important this band may be in our lives, we didn't feel the motivation to continue anymore. We are very proud of all that we've done, and want to thank all the people, past and present, involved in this project, and all the people that supported us during those years... Thanks a lot."

Ozzfest 2010 will kick off on August 14th in San Bernardino (Ozzfest’s birthplace in 1996) and travel to Chicago, Illinois; Hartford, Connecticut; Camden, New Jersey; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Boston, Massachusetts. Kataklysm will be performing on the second stage. Front man Maurizio Iacono checks in about the band’s inclusion on Ozzfest 2010:

"We are grateful that Kataklysm is about to turn the clock next year to 20 years of existence. Through good and bad times, we’ve stayed strong and remained a leading force in the underground, but I never in my life thought I would be on tour with Ozzy or Mötley Crüe while being in an extreme band. One can’t help but feel amazed when legends take notice and invite you to participate on one of the world’s most important tours: Ozzfest. Thanks, of course, to the Osbournes and their organization for this great opportunity. I wanna sincerely say ‘thank you’ to our fans for being there for us and giving us a chance through their support to make Kataklysm a legacy. Even more important, we’re here to party hard with you guys! This is a lifestyle and we should all unite at Ozzfest to celebrate this privilege of being metal heads!” More...

"So yeah, we are now back home after a pretty damn successful tour, had some bumps here and there, but nothing we couldn't fix! Goatsnake To Re-Release "Flower Of Disease"

Southern Lord Recordings has issued the following update about re-releasing the Goatsnake album "Flower of Disease:"

"Southern Lord Recordings is proud to re-unleash the long out-of-print Goatsnake album Flower Of Disease! The third official release from the almighty Goatsnake, this slick, thunderous eight-song slab of doom was initially released in 2000 on the now defunct Man's Ruin label, with Southern Lord handling the vinyl release. After lying dormant without an official pressing of the album in over eight years, the 'Lord now officially brings the album back to the masses on both CD and LP formats.

"Recorded at Hollywood's Grand Master Studios, and engineered by Nick Raskulinecz (Danzig, Foo Fighters, Probot, Alice In Chains), Flower Of Disease showcased Goatsnake elevating their already professional songwriting to new levels, deeply stirring those already following the act's every move and vacuuming in new countless new fans. This is "the release" that would solidify the Goatsnake name as one of the top bands of the '90s stoner/doom movement.

"The Goatsnake lineup on Flower Of Disease features members Greg Anderson (SUNN O))), Thorr's Hammer, Southern Lord Recordings), Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool, Desert Sessions), Greg Rogers (The Obsessed), and Stuart Dahlquist (Burning Witch, Asva), as well as guest contributions from Petra Haden and Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal, QOTSA, Mondo Generator)."

The "Flower of Disease" track List is as follows: More...
