Gojira Releases New Lyric Video

French death metal favourites Gojira has released a new lyric video for the song, "Into The Storm." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's forthcoming new album, "Fortitude," which is set to be released on April 30th through Roadrunner Records.

Vocalist / guitarist Joe Duplantier elaborated on "Into The Storm" remarking; "This song is infused with the concept of civil disobedience. Acting accordingly with our deepest wisdom and standing for what is precious and good in this world. The only possible revolution is the one that blossoms from within us. Change will come from individuals. Laws are meant to be bent and shaped to our vital needs. LAWS WILL FOLLOW!" More...

AC/DC Vocalist To Release Autobiography In October

AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson has announced that he will be releasing his autobiography, "The Lives Of Brian: AC/DC, Me, And The Making Of Back In Black," through Morrow Avon Books on October 26th. A trailer for the book can be seen below.

Says Brian: "I've had some long nights and some great nights, bad days and a lot of good ones. I’ve gone from choirboy to rock ‘n’ roll singer, and now I’ve gone and written a bloody book about it… The Lives of Brian is coming October 26th."

Johnson joined Aussie icons AC/DC in 1980, having previously fronted rock band Geordie from 1971 to 1978. He was first brought to the band's attention by their late vocalist Bon Scott, who was amazed by Johnson when seeing a Geordie concert, where the singer fell to the floor and continued singing while writhing around, eventually being wheeled off the stage in what was initially thought to be part of the show, but was later revealed to be appendicitis.

His first album with the band was the instant classic, "Back In Black," which went on to become the second biggest selling album of all time, behind Michael Jackson's, "Thriller." AC/DC were soon megastars and released a number of other acclaimed albums such as, "For Those About To Rock We Salute You" "The Razors Edge" and "Black Ice." More...

Primal Fear Releases "I Will Be Gone" Video

Last week, German power metal veterans Primal Fear released a new, five track EP entitled, "I Will Be Gone." The band has now posted a music video online for the title track, featuring former Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen. You can check it out below.

"There were three famous vocalists on our final wish list," Mat Sinner comments. "That it was Tarja who got involved in this song is a matter of pure joy for all of us. Working together on the song and video was relaxed and professional – a great experience also because Tarja’s and Ralf’s voices go together incredibly well. Now, we can expand the ‘Metal Commando’ saga with a unique chapter. We’re all really proud of this single."

The Finnish icon Tarja Turunen can only agree: "I was very happy to receive the invitation to take part in Primal Fear's beautiful song ‘I Will Be Gone’. We started our careers nearly at the same time many years ago, and finally got a chance to work together. I love the song and personally it helped me to stay connected and rock again, even if just at the studio this time. I really hope that people will like this collaboration and that it will bring them joy especially during these difficult times we are living through at the moment."

The track "I Will Be Gone" showcases Primal Fear's mellow, bittersweet side. The song, fragile and touching, gets an altogether new and deeply melancholic vibe with Tarja’s unbelievably emotional performance, showcasing a different facet of Primal Fear. Yet, it’s not the only gift they deliver on this 5-track sensation - "Vote Of No Confidence" is an all-new, previously unreleased beast of a song. Clocking in at over six minutes, this storming, furious anthem gives a brilliant glimpse of things to come. Previously only available as bonus tracks on the limited Metal Commando digipack, three more tracks complete this release; enchanting guitar instrumental "Rising Fear," massive mid-tempo smasher ‘Leave Me Alone’, and heavy metal monument "Second To None," making "I Will Be Gone" so much more than just another off shoot of a successful album. Hideous Divinity Releases New Single

Italian technical death metal heavyweights Hideous Divinity have unveiled "Chestburst" - the second brutal single from their forthcoming EP, "LV-426," set for release via Century Media Records on April 23rd. A visualizer video, based on the astonishing album art, can be seen below.

The band commented on "Chestburst," saying: "That persistent beat in James Horner's 'Face Huggers' theme from the movie score... it all starts there. If 'Acheron Stream Of Woe' is the epic theme, then 'Chestburst' is the crazy fast escape tune; it’s the soundtrack of alien drones hunting the Colonial Marine squad. And no, there's no happy ending."

The concept of the LV-426 EP is a sub-narrative of the second Alien movie, directed by James Cameron. Hideous Divinity states, "We chose to concentrate on the story of Rebecca ‘Newt’ Jorden, the six-year old girl rescued on the alien infested planetoid LV-426 by Ellen Ripley. We live the story from her point of view, a mixture of childhood’s happy life and memories cut off by the alien attack."

The EP includes two brand new Hideous Divinity tracks ("Acheron, Stream Of Woe" & "Chestburst") and a smashing tech-death cover version of Coheed And Cambria’s "Delirium Trigger." Like its predecessor Simulacrum, the EP was produced by Stefan Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio, where he refined the band's signature sound consisting of bone-crushing riffs, superb drumming, and frightful vocals. Also, the EP features a stunning Alien-themed artwork by Colin Estrada. More...

Wolfheart Posts Acoustic Music Video Online

Exactly one entire year after the release of their latest full-length, "Wolves of Karelia," Finnish melodic death metal mainstays Wolfheart have yet another surprise for fans - a new music video for the chilling acoustic version of "Aeon Of Cold," cut from their recent EP, "Skull Soldiers," and featuring the airy vocals of bassist Lauri Silvonen. The original version of "Aeon Of Cold" can be heard on the band's 2015 album, "Shadow World."

Wolfheart frontman Tuomas Saukkonen says about the acoustic version of "Aeon Of Cold":
"It was really inspiring to dismantle a song full of blast beats, double bass drum, growling vocals and heavy guitars into a two acoustic guitar arrangement, leaving only the core of the song left and letting our bass player Lauri take the spotlight with clean vocals. Despite the contrast with the arrangements, the coldness and the somber mood of the original version is still there. We wanted to underline that with the video, so we shot the footage in the middle of the forest in -17 celsius temperature."

You can check out the music video below, along with a recent interview Tuomas Saukkonen conducted with Metal Underground. More...

Emperor Announces Livestream Show

2021 marks 30 years since the formation of extreme metal pioneers, Emperor.

Formed in 1991, their game-changing debut "In The Nightside Eclipse" (1995) set the template for symphonic, bombastic, melodic black metal, whilst their follow-up record, "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk" (1997) became an instant hit.

Emperor were a force to be reckoned with as underground, experimental and extreme forms of music twisted expectations throughout the end of the 20th Century.

2001 saw the end of Emperor with their fourth album, the ambitious and labyrinthine "Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire & Demise."

Scheduled plans for a celebratory concert have changed shape to suit to times; instead there will be an exclusive livestream event, aptly performed in the Notodden Theatre of their hometown, Telemark.

The setlist will feature tracks from the entire catalogue, as well as very special guest appearances from original bass player Mortiis, who appeared on the "Wrath Of The Tyrant" demo, As the "Shadows Rise" EP and Emperor mini album, and ex-drummer Faust, who appeared on the As the "Shadows Rise" EP, Emperor mini album, as well as the landmark album "In the Nightside Eclipse."

Emperor frontman, Ihsahn, says; "2021 marks 30 years since the formation of Emperor. With the current state of the world, it’s been impossible to go ahead with scheduled plans. We now welcome you to join us in an exclusive streaming event. The show will take place at Notodden Theatre, 23rd of May."

Hosted by Munin Live, you can get your livestream tickets here: www.munin.live
