Ministry Postpones U.S. Tour

Ministry will be moving forward with the much anticipated Industrial Strength Tour, today announcing that the previously announced spring dates have now been moved to October and November 2021 to allow additional time for COVID-19 restrictions to be lifted as the country nears towards more normalcy this fall.

The new dates will kick off October 3, 2021 in Albuquerque and run through November 3, 2021 in Seattle, hitting all the previously announced markets except Pittsburgh, PA and Missoula, MT which unfortunately have been canceled and Baltimore, MD which will be postponed for a later date. The Buffalo, NY show has moved to a new venue and previous ticket purchases will be honored. And an additional show date has been added for Charlotte, NC that will go on sale Monday, March 22 at 10 am ET.

The tour’s special guests Front Line Assembly remain on the lineup for this one-of-a-kind celebration alongside newly announced support act Helmet. This special tour honors not only the 40th anniversary of Ministry in 2021 but also the 30th anniversary of revolutionary album The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste and will also include brand-new material from Ministry’s upcoming 15th studio album. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 protocols for visas, travel and vaccine distribution in Germany as well as immigration uncertainty, KMFDM will regrettably not be taking part in this tour.

Says Ministry founder Al Jourgensen, "With current COVID-19 restrictions, we are forced to again move our scheduled March/April 2021 U.S. tour to October/November 2021 and hoping normalcy returns by then. With vaccinations and better care happening, we all feel the fall is realistic. We can’t wait to get out there and play not only The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste material for you all but some stuff off our new album as well. Stay safe and see you in the fall!" More...

Amorphis Announces New Live Album

While concerts and cheering crowds seem to be a long lost echo from the past these days, melancholic progressive metallers Amorphis bring back some of the life and uncomparable energy that many of us have been missing so desperately. Recorded during a special hometown show that took place on December 7th, 2019, little did the Finns know that this would be one of their last concerts before the pandemic outbreak in early 2020. With 15 tracks in total and a running time of over one and a half hours, Amorphis take you on a journey through their past, showcasing their best songs from the last 30 years that saw the band turn into one of Finland's finest metal exports.

"Helsinki Ice Hall, what can I say... the very same venue where we used to see bands like Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Metallica and many many more back in the 80’s when we were kids”, Tomi Koivusaari contemplates when thinking of the show. “I’m sure we all dreamed about playing there someday. In our hometown Helsinki, where it all started with Amorphis 30 years ago. So I’d say we had a special feeling at that gig, the last one of the tour in Finland for that year. I guess this recording is a very honest picture of us playing live, nothing is fixed afterwards, except mightily mixed and mastered of course. When I listened to it a while ago, I realized how much I miss playing live. And yet we have no idea when it will be possible next, in this crazy situation with Covid and all... So, stay healthy, take care and shine on you all, see you hopefully soon on tour.
We will."

"Live At Helsinki Ice Hall" will be available as 2CD digipak and download/stream. The 2LP version of this show is exclusively available in the "Vinyl Collection 2006 – 2020" boxset, also out on May 21st. More...

Xael Releases New Music Video

Hailing from the Carolinas in the USA, comes Xael (ft. members of Nile, The Reticent, Rapheumets Well), bringing with them epic symphonic death metal like no other. They have recently released an album entitled "Bloodtide Rising" (February 12, 2021) and now have a music video for the title track, which features guests Mathieu Marcotte (Guitarist from Augury and Humanoid) and Nate Miller (Chinese Violin).

The title track was the first song written for the new album, and thus sets the tone of the entire full length. It is primal and epic, showcasing the brutal nature of the main antagonist of the record's story. Xael explains the track and album in their own words:

"It’s an auditory odyssey, it’s brutal and emotional all at once. The story of the album really focuses on the members of the band who are called the “watchers of Xan” in which we navigate the different worlds. This album focuses on our arrival to Vuul Athmar as our characters are sold off from the prison of Dreadrift. We craft our own multiverse and create our own lore. The entire band is crafted from the dark and complex set of dimensions."

The video for the album title track can be watched below. More...
