Slipknot Shares "The Chapeltown Rag" Video

Slipknot have released an official video for the single, "The Chapeltown Rag," which is available on all streaming platforms.

The Clown-directed visual frames the visceral experience of the band’s unparalleled live performance. True to form, heavy music’s generational ambassadors in Slipknot set the community ablaze late last year with the launch of a brand new offensive packaged with cryptic fanfare.

Within the span of about a week’s time, the band methodically disseminated veiled messaging from the then unreleased music, fuelling speculation that their plan of attack was imminent.

Launching an all out blitz, "The Chapeltown Rag" surfaced as Slipknot’s first showing of new material since We Are Not Your Kind and emphatically punctuated a monumental 2021 - a year that included the band’s triumphant live return following the unprecedented stall in the wake of a historic pandemic.

Thematically, the song utilized the true crime lore of the Yorkshire Ripper and the ensuing mania of the media during the murderous spree to draw parallels to the current social climate of the online era. From Corey Taylor’s tortured howl, "When everything is God online, nothing is" a loaded statement can be deduced about modern day misinformation and the kind of divisiveness that mares the digital age. Gladenfold Unveils New Album Cover

Finnish melodic metal band Gladenfold will release their third studio album, "Nemesis," on April 29th via Reaper Entertainment, this time reflecting on their melodic death metal roots, resulting in by far their darkest and most extreme album, both in terms of sound and atmosphere. Once again, with expansive soundscapes and versatile songwriting, the band delivers soft and delicate acoustic sounds, aggressive and fast-paced riffs, to grandiose and majestic parts and uplifting power metal moments, all characteristic of Gladenfold's sound repertoire.

The album was mixed by Juhis Kauppinen at ShedStudios and again mastered by Joona Lukala at Noise For Fiction. The stunning cover artwork is by Felipe Machano Franco, known for his work for bands such as Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, and Rhapsody Of Fire.

The band comments on the cover artwork:

"We wanted the album cover to reflect the dark and eerie mood of the album, which is present both musically and lyrically. Many of the songs are about self-reflection, about going into the dark regions of your own mind and discovering the existence of your own evil sides. Considering this, the cover should speak for itself. Felipe has truly nailed our vision with his craftsmanship.

"The first single and music video will be released on February 25. Stay tuned and get ready, because a storm is coming."

Tracklisting:

1. Carnival of the Hunter
2. Chiara's Blessing
3. Stone of Storms
4. Nemesis
5. Saraste
6. Curse of Solitude
7. Revelations
8. Tapestry of Creation

Bloodbound Postpones 2022 Tour Dates

Things must to get back to normal at some point, or so it was said last year: Swedish power metal force Bloodbound announced their upcoming tour for March 2022. The trek would see the band play 13 shows in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Belgium. The tour is now being rescheduled to March 2023.

The band released their ninth studio album "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" in May 2021 via AFM Records. To still celebrate their latest record, the Swedes are moving their Tour Of The Dark Realm to next year. The package remains unchanged as support comes from their label colleagues Arion, plus newcomers Metalite and Veonity

"We were looking forward to this tour for months. We were full of hope for things to change for better until the last minute," says the band. "We have been looking at the situation carefully during the last few weeks of course, though. We have been in contact with the promoters all the time. And we reached a point a week ago or so where we had to accept that the venues in some countries we're going to play are still looking at some restrictions. We've had to make the super hard decision to postpone the tour. To say this is a downer would be the understatement of the year. The good news is, we're happy to share that we have managed to keep the package what it is, and we are even more looking forward to hitting the road with our friends Arion, Metalite and Veonity. Stay safe and we will see you in March 2023!"

The new dates are as follows: More...

Thunder Announces New Album "Dopamine"

Icons of British hard rock, Thunder, have announced a brand new album, "Dopamine," out on April 29, as well as unveiling the first single lifted from it, "The Western Sky," the new video can be found below.

Dopamine is Thunder’s first ever double-album, and consists of 16 tracks - something that is resonant with the album's themes.

Guitarist, songwriter and Thunder co-founder Luke Morley says: "We didn’t set out to make a double album but as the writing and recording process went on we wandered into some interesting areas and then it became a case of 'can we afford to leave any of this off?’ In the end we did reduce it from 20 tunes to 16 but it wasn’t an easy choice."

Satirical and urgent but never downcast, "Dopamine" was inspired by the world’s mass retreat to social media during the pandemic lockdowns, endlessly hunting for the next hit of happy hormones.

"I read a fascinating article by an American psychologist," says Luke, "who said that social media forces us to become dopamine addicts. We’re validated and liked on social media, which releases the dopamine – and so we get addicted to it. We take more and more selfies in the hope of more and more validation, and the album cover reflects this. People are surrounded by amazing things that they’re missing because they’re so self-obsessed. Of course, you’ll have to get your hands on the physical album to see all of the amazing things I’m referring to." More...

It was intense. The process of producing the album had an even more amazing synergy between us as a band and our old friend and producer Adair Daufembach. I'm so excited by this album and I can't wait to release it." More...

Bodysnatcher Reveals New Album Details

Hotly-tipped US deathcore group Bodysnatcher will release their long anticipated album, "Bleed-Abide," on 22nd April via MNRK Heavy.

The band today reveal the record's artwork, tracklisting, and new single "E.D.A.," which can be heard below.

An epically unashamed demonstration of aggression, Bodysnatcher's music is dark, furious, and threatening. It’s a sound born from the burden of struggle and an unwavering commitment to continued survival against all obstacles.

Bodysnatcher put the 'core' back in deathcore. "Bleed-Abide," the Florida band's third album, crackles with rage and power.

Tracklisting:

1. Bleed
2. Abide
3. Absolved Of The Strings And Stone
4. Smashed Perception
5. Flatline
6. Glass Prison
7. Value Through Suffering
8. Chaos
9. E.D.A.
10. Wired For Destruction
11. Hollow Shell
12. Behind The Crowd
13. The Question

Comments vocalist Kyle Medina, "'Bleed-Abide' is the ultimate culmination of what the band has been building for years, and I believe the best material to date. The instrumentals have matured and become heavier hitting and the lyrics dig deeper personally and more relatable than even This Heavy Void. There is something for everyone in this album: slam riffs, breakdowns, two steps, choruses that stick…"

"This album means more to me than any album I have ever been involved in,” adds drummer Chris Whited. “We all love [last album] 'This Heavy Void,' but we weren’t the well-oiled machine that we are now. We know exactly how we all write together and what we are capable of now, and this album fully shows it. Every one of us put hours upon hours into this album throughout the pandemic. Hearing it all come together as one cohesive piece is amazing. I’m so proud of my brothers. This is the album I have always wanted to put out." More...
