Red Cain Shares New Visualizer Video

Canada’s progressive power gothic metal band Red Cain unleashed their new album “Kindred: Act II” digitally this past January with the CD physical release due out via Sliptrick Records later date this year.

Today, the band presents their latest visualizer for their track "Precipice of Man," which can be seen below.

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny adds:
"A ballad, but also...not? Certainly the most experimental track on this album, "Precipice of Man" was born out of focusing entirely on capturing the story and atmosphere related to the track from note one, and creating a musical landscape supporting those elements. Utilizing falsetto vocals and electronic touches not found in other tracks, 'Precipice of Man' still keeps the weight and urgency of the album, but provides a necessary introspective and cautiously uplifting element.

"Within the “Kindred” concept, this is a track that “takes stock” of the world of the album at the time, featuring three parts from the POV of three characters: the opening stanzas from Zalcoatl’s companion Juliet urging him to push on (“take my hand and step out onto the precipice of Man”), the Nameless Exarch’s ominous Latin chants in the middle of the track as he commands his hordes, and Zalcoatl’s meditation on the role of humanity (“all their songs, they weren’t meant for us...but we are all that’s here”). The track hits a crescendo with an uplifting, determined chorus from all our protagonists together - “There is life in the ashes, there is smoke upon the shore - and your weary hands hold the fate of more than you can know” - showing that there is still hope on the journey to the Sun." Avaland Announces Debut Album Release

Grenoble, France's Avaland will welcome fans to their symphonic and operatic metal world when they release their debut album "Theater Of Sorcery" on April 2, 2021, via Rockshots Records.

Today, the band presents their new lyric video for the second single "Rise From The Ashes" featuring guests Zaher Zorgati (Myrath), Madie (Nightmare/Faith In Agony), Zak Stevens (Ex-Savatage/TSO/Archon Angel), Heli Andrea (Mobius/OLANE), Jeff Kanji, Emmanuelson (Rising Steel/Ellipsis), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear/ex-Gamma Ray).

Band founder and mastermind Adrien G. Gzagg comments about the track:

"This is the great finale on the album! And what is a great finale without all the actors of the show? That’s why I decided to make everyone sing on this song, to reunite the whole Avaland Family on a powerful chorus. With the first track, there are the 2 hymns of Avaland. It’s for this kind of emotion I created Avaland, I’m impatient to sing this song on stage! Every character comes back to Avaland and the light shines again. It’s a bit “cliché”, but I like this happy end for this first album. It results perfectly from all the efforts we put in this first Opus and trust me, it was a long and hard road!"

Continue the exploration into the world of Avaland by listening and watching the video for "Rise From The Ashes" via Rockshots Records' YouTube channel or below. More...

Trollfest Posts New Animated Video Online

After announcing their new EP, "Happy Heroes" (out March 19 via Napalm Records), the kings of True Norwegian Folk Metal Trollfest release the EP’s title track, "Happy Heroes," along with a truly Kaotic animated music video. Viewer discretion is advised!

Trollfest unleash their next troll adventure as soon as this tune kicks off! The video is a Kaotic, mad and colorful mess, where our trolls attempt to become powerful super heroes – however their plans to save the world don’t end up as planned. “Happy Heroes” takes you on a ride through an absurd world, musically accompanied by triumphant saxophones, heavy riffs and a whole lot of Trollfest’s very own True Norwegian Balkan Metal!

Four vivid songs on Happy Heroes deliver a vast variety of spectacular musical romps, made evident by the catchy original title track "Happy Heroes," wherein Trollfest tells the story of evil, self-righteous troll superheroes whom you should probably not call if you’re in need of help. The EP then presents three re-energized cover songs – Balkan and folk metal re-imaginings of the world-famous "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, quite possibly the cheeriest song known to man, the newly released "Don’t Worry Be Happy", by Bobby McFerrin, as well as the Aqua hit "Cartoon Heroes." New Behemoth Album Expected In Fall 2021

Behemoth - arguably the biggest extreme metal band in the world – have extended and expanded their contract with Nuclear Blast, who will now distribute the group’s music worldwide outside of their home country. The group originally signed with Nuclear Blast Europe prior to the release of 2009’s "Evangelion," but their forthcoming album – which is tentatively set for an autumn 2021 release – will be their first to be released by the label outside of the Old Continent.

Formed in 1991 by then-teenage guitarist/vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski, Behemoth shattered the glass ceiling of the European metal underground thanks to a combination of aggressive worldwide touring, fiery and theatrical live performances, visually captivating music videos and unwaveringly intense music. Albums such as Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame inductee "Demigod" (2005) and 2014’s "The Satanist" – hailed by Metal Hammer as the greatest extreme metal album of the 21st Century, and one of two Behemoth records to achieve gold-certified status in Poland – pushed blasphemous blackened death metal to heights previously thought unattainable. Those releases provided the group with no shortage of fierce ammunition to conquer all audiences in its path, whether in support of childhood heroes such as Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer and Danzig; on some of metal’s biggest festival stages around the globe; or more recently, in European arenas alongside fellow subversives Slipknot.

Despite numerous attempts to be silenced by Poland’s religious right, Behemoth has steadfastly refused to compromise, and Nergal believes that the best is yet to come. "Nuclear Blast has been a household name in metal for decades, and Behemoth has been part of that long and illustrious history," he says. "But now is about the future, and we look forward to beginning Behemoth’s next chapter with a refocused and revitalized team at Nuclear Blast!" More...

Gojira To Release New Album In April

2x Grammy nominated band Gojira have announced details of their long-awaited new album, "Fortitude," which will be released April 30 via Roadrunner Records. Today, the band has shared the forthcoming album’s first single, "Born For One Thing," which is available on all streaming platforms and accompanied by a Charles De Meyer directed official music video shot in France and Belgium. Watch the clip below.

Available in multiple formats for pre-order today, "Fortitude" stands out as Gojira’s first album in five years and the follow-up to 2016’s Grammy nominated LP, "Magma."

As if shedding skin and baring armour in its place, "Born For One Thing" represents a natural evolution for the acclaimed French band: hyper-focused but unhinged, confrontational and yet compassionate. "We have to practice detaching ourselves from everything, beginning with actual things," vocalist / guitarist Joe Duplantier says of the song’s anti-consumerist message, which was partially inspired by the Tibetan and Thai philosophers he read in his youth back in France. "Own less possessions, and give what you don’t need away, because one day we’ll have to let everything go, and if we don’t, we’ll just become ghosts stuck between dimensions." More...
