Endseeker comments: "We took all the frustration and despair over the cancelled shows and the whole misery Covid has brought upon us all and forged it into a bunch of straight forward, powerful songs that accompanied us through 2020 and will now be shared with the rest of the world. 'Mount Carcass' is definitely our most focused - in a way, even the angriest - record so far, and 'Unholy Rites', with its uplifting zombie-vibe, is the perfect opener for this new chapter in the history of Endseeker. We'd of course love to start this new chapter with YOU, our fans. Sadly, there won't be a sweaty sold-out release show like last time, however, we're back at the Knust in Hamburg on April 18th for a special livestream event (more details to be revealed soon). Come and celebrate with us online until we see each other in the pit again!" More...

Jon Davis Previews New Conan Album & Ungraven EP

Britain has a long and storied history when it comes to heavy metal music. Though most will say that the genre was born on the island, fathered by Black Sabbath, with other icons such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Saxon following suit, it never quite achieved the popularity and attention as it did in Germany, Scandinavia, or even America. Despite this, there has always been a steady stream of British metal bands and in 2012, the world was introduced to Conan, perhaps the best doom metal band from England since Electric Wizard.

Since then, Conan has established themselves as a vital part of the global doom metal scene and frontman Jon Davis has also extended his creative outlet by forming Ungraven, a more black metal laden affair. Though it started as a solo project, Tuskar's Tyler Hodges joined in 2019, before the lineup was rounded up with the addition of former Fudge Tunnel bassist David Riley.

To find out more about Ungraven and their upcoming split EP with Belfast bruisers The Slomatics, as well as the current status of a new Conan album and their new live release, "Live At Freak Valley," I spoke with Jon Davis and discovered some truly exciting things about both bands. You can listen to the interview in full below. More...

Behemoth Frontman Fined By Polish Government

Behemoth frontman Adam Darski, better known as Nergal, has been convicted by a Polish court of "offending religious feelings." Subsequently, the musician has been fined PLN15000 (around $4000) but has indicated that he will appeal against the ruling. The so-called offence was pertaining to an Instagram post, in which the vocalist shared a picture of himself standing over a picture of the virgin Mary.

Nergal has previously been in trouble with the Polish system over such matters before. Previously, he faced a long and drawn out legal battle after he ripped up a bible on stage, for which he has found innocent, though a retrial was scheduled, it was eventually dismissed due to the statute of limitations.

The Polish government itself has been in the news a lot in recent years, owing to their ultra conservative positions, which has seen abortion almost completely outlawed, ordering historians to apologise to the relative of a former Polish mayor who gave up Jews to the Nazis, while reported anti-Semite Tomasz Rzymkowski has been appointed the deputy minister for education. The government's approach to the COVID-19 pandemic has also been criticised, after announcing that they will end their lockdown, despite over 5000 people a day being diagnosed with the illness since January.
