Sanctuary/Nevermore Vocalist Dead At 56

Warrel Dane, the lead singer of Sanctuary and Nevermore, has passed away at the age of only 56 after suffering a heart attack during the night. He was on tour in Brazil, where guitarist told UOL;

"He died in the night. He had a heart attack. He was in the apartment where he stayed during the recording of the album when it happened. I gave him cardiac massage and we called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), who came very fast, but when they arrived, he was already dead."

The singer first came to prominence with Sanctuary, with whom he released two studio albums, before forming Nevermore, which achieved considerable commercial success. After Nevermore folded, he revived Sanctuary and the band released a third album, "The Year The Sun Died" in 2014, with a fourth record, "Inception" following only this year. He will be greatly missed.

Seattle-based Endorphins Lost announces an impending split 7'' with OSK set for release in February, which will be supported by a Western US tour in March.

Endorphins Lost released their debut LP, Choose Your Way, through Six Weeks Records in November 2016, unabashedly introducing the masses to their blistering style of metallic, grinding, crust/powerviolence. The band will now stomp a fresh dose of salt into the wounds inflicted by their debut with four scathing new tracks, sharing a slab of 7'' vinyl with their allies in Canadian grind/hardcore outfit OSK who add three tracks to the flipside. The Endorphins Lost tracks were recorded in March 2017 by Mike at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle, Washington, with additional vocals recorded by Dylan Ludwig at Raven Sound Studio in Prescott, Arizona, and mixed and mastered by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studio in Oakland, California. The OSK tracks were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jesse Gander at Hive Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia in the spring of 2013.

Hark Calls It Quits

After an EP and two albums between 2010 and 2017, Wales-based stoner outfit Hark has called it quits. Read Hark's full statement below:

"After seven years of hard work, commitment, sweat and toil, and of course some irreplaceably great times together – we’re glad to share with you that Hark has now come to it’s logical and final conclusion. While we’re immensely proud of ‘Machinations’ and everything that we’ve achieved since it’s release this year, we collectively feel that this is the furthest point that we can take this band. From releasing the ‘Mythopoeia’ 7” along with our first show at Morrowfest in 2012, through to touring with Clutch and shortly after releasing ’Crystalline’ in 2014, and throughout all subsequent tours and lineup changes, it’s fair to say that each member has been lucky enough to take everything that they wanted from being in this band." Monster Magnet To Release New Album March 2018

Monster Magnet's new album “Mindfucker” will arrive in stores on March 23rd via Napalm Records. Comments the band’s vocalist/guitarist Dave Wyndorf:

“‘Mindfucker‘ is a fuzzed out, headbangin’ celebration of hard rock and 21st century paranoia. Ten fuel injected, nitro burning tracks of fiery rock ‘n roll and garage psych madness, all done Monster Magnet style. It’s also an album that gets right to the point: the world is out of it’s fucking mind and I’m livin’ it….for better or worse.

It’s simple, really. In these crazy times I’ve been wanting to just drive my car at 100 miles per hour and howl, you know what I mean? So I wrote songs I can do that with. And with lyrics that don’t deny the times we’re living in. Feels good, feels right. Rock is alive, baby!” More...

Decapitated Released From Jail Awaiting Rape Trial

All four members of Decapitated have been released from prison as they await trial for kidnapping and rape charges. Each band member faces charges of varying degrees for an incident alleged to have occurred on their tour bus back on August 31st, 2017 in Spokane, WA. On that night the band are accused of gang raping a girl on their bus. The group have denied all charges thus far.

Additionally, Decapitated were ordered to sign waivers of extradition that would allow them to be sent back to Spokane, WA should they attempt to flee home to Poland.
