Therion Reveals New Album Artwork

On February 2nd, symphonic metal pioneers Therion will finally release Christofer Johnsson's monumental brainchild "Beloved Antichrist," a sweeping rock opera loosely inspired by Vladímir Soloviov’s "A Short Tale Of The Antichrist." The entire piece reaches an impressive length of 3 hours and the dramatic opus comes to life through 27 different character roles, performed by long-time band members like Thomas Vikström, Lori Lewis and Chiara Malvestiti, amongst many others. The band will unveil the first excerpt from ‘Beloved Antichrist’ in single form before Christmas – and today, they present the cover artwork designed by Thomas Ewerhart, as well as the tracklisting:

Sigh Reveals New Album Title

Japanese extreme metal veterans Sigh has posted a short update online, in which revealed the name of their forthcoming new album. The message reads as follows:

"Time files but we promise that our new album 'Heir to Despair' will be coming out some time in 2018. The recording process should be done very soon and we have already shot the video for one of the songs."

This will be Sigh's first album since the critically acclaimed, "Graveward" (see review here) in 2015. More...

Dark Buddha Rising's "II" Set To Drop This March

Prepare your mind, body, and the deepest recesses of your soul: the black gates that Dark Buddha Rising unlocked a decade ago with "I", open further in 2018, as the band announce the "II" EP, due for release via Neurot Recordings on March 23rd, 2018. "II" continues to traverse spiritual planes, exposing a vortex with their sonic calls from beyond.

Fistula Announce New Split Releases

In celebration of their impending twentieth anniversary, Ohio sludgecore veterans Fistula will release the first wave of an ongoing split seven-inch series. Slated to drop on December 15th via Patac Records, the first splits find Fistula sharing wax space with sludge stalwarts Come To Grief and -(16)-.

The band's split with Come To Grief features two original unreleased tracks and will be available in three colors of vinyl as well as an extremely limited "cassingle." On the second split, -(16)- covers "Complications" by Killing Joke while Fistula covers "Mongoloid" by Devo. This release will also be available in three color variants. Fistula will unleash four more splits with Hemdale, Bloodsick, Fister, and one final band to be announced at a later date. Additionally, the bandwill issue a vinyl version of 2016's Longing For Infection with a bonus etched seven-inch from the recording session. Details to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Ocean 10th Anniversary Vinyls Announced

Anthrax Set April Release For New Live DVD

Multi-Grammy nominated thrash icons Anthrax will see ‘Kings Among Scotland’ the band’s long-awaited live-in-concert DVD, arrive in stores and online on April 27th 2018. Captured last February 15th at the band's sold-out concert at Glasgow's historic venue the Barrowland Ballroom, the two-hour ‘Kings Among Scotland’ incorporates the band’s entire live show along with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and other B-roll shot on the band's tour bus, backstage, in hotels and elsewhere. The DVD will also include a "gear rundown" from each of the band members.

Dream Theater Ink Worldwide Deal With InsideOut

Dream Theater have inked a new worldwide deal with Sony Music imprint InsideOutMusic. Plans are being laid for the group's 14th studio album while the band themselves commented of their new label deal:
