Iron Maiden Announces Australian Tour Dates

British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden has announced that they will be embarking on a tour of Australia in May of next year, where they will be joined by metalcore favourites Killswitch Engage. A statement from frontman Bruce Dickinson reads as follows:

"We're immensely proud of this show and we've had great reactions from the many fans who came to see us in Europe, North America, Mexico and South America.

"The production for Australia is exactly the same as the other shows on this tour so far and is based on our mobile game the Legacy Of The Beast, which basically takes various incarnations of Eddie into many different Maiden worlds. This inspired us to put together a stage show to take our fans through different worlds and experiences set to appropriate songs.

"It is not that easy designing different worlds on stage and we put a huge amount of work into this to make it work, and the end result we feel is our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date. We've got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the stage during 'Aces High', tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, muskets, claymores and some truly marvellous flame-throwers which I have a hell of a lot of fun with, as you will see! And of course, we have Eddie, as you've never seen him before, and absolutely loads of other surprises.

"I've had the time of my life playing with all these magnificent props on stage; it's been fantastic. We can't wait to bring this show to you!"

Demonical Parts Ways With Vocalist

Swedish melodic, brutal death metal band, Demonical, have announced the parting of ways with vocalist Alexander Högbom (October Tide).

Högbom, who recorded one studio album with the band (2018's Chaos Manifesto) announced his decision in June, with plans to leave the band permanently after Scandinavia Deathfest 2019. Demonical already found a replacement in Christofer Säterdal (central figure in the picture), who will join the band as their new frontman.

Bassist Martin Schulman provides more details on the matter: "Demonical and vocalist Alexander Högbom have parted ways without involvement of neither deep drama nor bad blood. This has been in the making for quite some time - even if not publicly revealed - as already five months ago - Alexander informed the rest of the band about his need to step back after Scandinavia Deathfest 2019 in order to focus on other things in life. We respect Alex's decision, want to thank him for all the years in the band, and wish him the very best of luck for the future, whatever it might hold. Demonical would like to welcome Christofer Säterdal to the ranks as the bands new frontman. Christofer has proven his quality and dedication in various bands during the years with Swedish viking-metallers Fimbultyr being the most prominent one. The rehearsals and recordings done during the summer have made us confident that Chris is the right man for the position and the one who can carry on the torch. The path forward looks nothing but victorious!”

Säterdal will make his live debut with Demonical on November 14 in Stockholm, before heading out on Brazil Ablaze Tour, which starts on December 5 in Manaus. The band is gearing up to record a follow-up to Chaos Manifesto this winter. The yet-untitled record is tentatively slated for an early summer 2020 release via Agonia Records.

Mammoth Mammoth Uploads New Single

Australian, high-voltage rock juggernaut Mammoth Mammoth strikes back with their fifth studio album, "Kreuzung," coming out this Friday, November 8th, on Napalm Records! Only a few days ahead of release, today the band is sharing with us a brand new single for the heavy as hell track "Lead Boots," which you can check out below.

Says charismatic vocalist Mikey Tucker: “I really wanted to try something new vocally and experiment a little with this track, the chorus style is a completely new style for me. Richard also ran the vocals through a vintage Hammond rotary amp, so it was a lot of fun and helped achieve the sound I was hoping for.”

"Kreuzung" (German for crossroads) is the first album with a new line-up consisting of original members, Mikey Tucker (vocalist) and Frank Trobbiani (drums) and introducing new members, Marco Gennaro (guitarist) and Kris Sinister (bass). The band seized the opportunity to refine their hard-rock formula since the release of Mount The Mountain two years ago. In January 2017, Mammoth Mammoth found themselves at a crossroads. Already committed to two European tours, including their first visit to Spain and Portugal plus a large number of shows on the summer festival circuit, original guitarist Ben Couzens and bassist Pete Bell were unable to perform those ongoing commitments. In order for Mammoth Mammoth to honour those shows, Tucker and Trobbiani needed to find replacement musicians to continue to bring the high-energy, beer- soaked, dirty-rock shows to their loyal fan base. Inspired by all new surroundings, line-up change and a studio location in the heart of Berlin, Germany, Kreuzung signifies where the band had found themselves in 2017: The gritty Rock`n`Roll manifesto of Mammoth Mammoth has truly evolved and they know exactly where they‘re heading next!
