Dystopia A.D. Release Single "Fields of Carrion"
Death metal titans Dystopia A.D. have unleashed a lyric video for "Fields of Carrion". The song is from their album "Doomsday Psalm", which is set to release on December 2nd, 2022.
The band comments "When writing "Fields of Carrion," we wanted to make a "blackened power metal" song - two sub-genres we love, but don't always mesh. The track opens with dissonant riffage and a haunting solo evocative before giving way to blackened blast beat assaults and foaming-at-the-mouth snarls. There's this big, epic chorus in the vein of Blind Guardian, as well as a chunky breakdown, folk interlude, and more lead guitar wizardry. So, we think there's something here for everyone in the Metal Brother/Sisterhood!" More...

To The Grave To Release New Album In February
Hard-line extreme metal squad To The Grave have announced their new album, "Director’s Cuts," to be released via Unique Leader Records on 24th February, 2023.
Ahead of the album, the band are sharing their first single "Red Dot Sight," a hard-hitting track about anti-vegan public figures and the media perception against vegan activists. You can check out the video below.
The band comment on the new album: "This is the refinement of our combined musical tastes, fuelled by our sadness and anger at the state of the world. We made the music we wanted to make without really considering how it would fit into any little genre boxes, because we knew if we loved it completely then everyone else would too. These songs are hard and heavy without being technical just for the sake of it."
Commenting on the new single the band add: "'Red Dot Sight' is about anti-vegan public figures and influencers dragging the names of activists for headlines and views. The way our media paints them as criminals and terrorists sways public perception against those wanting to do good to the point that it’s socially acceptable to treat them like sh*t." More...
Amorphis Posts New Song "The Well" Online
Just one week before the kick-off of their long-awaited co-headline-tour with Eluveitie, AMORPHIS shroud you in more heavy riffs and timeless melodies by launching their brand new track 'The Well'! As part of the "Halo (Tour Edition)" digipak that is out today, this song was recorded during the band's latest studio session and is only available on this CD and digitally.
“'The Well' tells a story about an individual causing chaos and mayhem by breaking the principles of society. It is a timeless force phenomenon repeating itself in the history of time, a kind of natural force among the human kind”, vocalist Tomi Joutsen states. “The song itself is drawing some influences from the early scandinavian early black metal and classic oriental Amorphis vibes. This one is on the heavier side of the material recorded during the 'Halo' album sessions on 2021.”

Ruinthrone Reveals New Album Details
Italian fantasy power metallers RuinThrone will be releasing their new J.R.R. Tolkien-inspired album "The Unconscious Mind Of Arda" due out January 13th, 2023 via Rockshots Records to follow their debut album "Urban Ubris"and EP "Leaden Field."
The album itself has been composed of stories inspired by Tolkien’s poems, his "Legendarium." The band hopes the concepts they wrote can be “messengers” of reflection for their listeners, turning in a better awareness of their daily life.
"With this album, we think we reached our own identity. Back in the early years, we started with a classic German power metal style, but year by year we changed and matured musically. This is why we use 7-string guitars with 1/2 step-down tuning, extreme vocals, etc. For this new record, we also focused on an alternative point of view of some stories written by Tolkien. We thought it would have been interesting to explore not only some interesting characters and heroes but also the mind of the main villains." adds guitarist Nicolò de Maria.
Today, Ruinthrone reveal the second single "The Past Is Yet To Come" accompanied by a lyric video.
“If I think about that time when I wrote these lyrics suddenly the enthusiasm and the writing ease come to my mind. Long story short the song tells about the fear of death. I imagined that even a king at some point has to confront himself with this thought: “my life will come to an end, my consciousness will fade away, and nothing will mean anything cause I won’t be anymore.”. The power of writing can change this feeling. All of a sudden fate is tamed if you sign a contract with the Dark Lord. In exchange for immortality, the king agrees to turn into a Nazgûl and make a Mephistophelian agreement. My vision of the circle of life and death is similar to Nietzsche’s one of the Eternal Recurrence. The weight of immortality turns into ages and events happening over and over in the same way. The main character begins to understand why death is a gift of Iluvatar, not a curse." says vocalist Haedus. More...
