Vocalist Ryo Kinoshita commments: "Before we started writing this album, we all knew this record would define who we are, where we stand and where we are heading. No matter how things around us change, we are who we are and we've always headed the same direction and it never changes. Eye Posts New Video

With the "Vision And The Ageless Light" LP approaching release through Laser's Edge later this month, Ohio-based psychedelic/prog quartet Eye just debuted a video for "Dweller Of The Twilight Void."

The band offers, "'Dweller Of The Twilight Void' was the final song to be written and recorded for Vision And Ageless Light...We met at our dimly lit studio one evening and performed over the already tracked acoustic guitar and constantly drifting Mellotron. Brandon and I sang together as I played the Moog straight through to the end. Jon rolling through it with us on second acoustic, and Michael putting it all together on upright bass.

"It was fun and fulfilling to capture that moment which we feel is the epicenter of the record in such a gliding session. Some songs don't come so easily. There were definitely lots of laughter, smiles, and smoke rings swirling with the frequency and spirit of this song that night..."

Laser's Edge will issue "Vision And The Ageless Light: on CD, LP, and digital formats this coming November 18th, 2016. You can also catch Eye live on these dates:

Dawnbringer Releasing "XX"

Today, Ektro Records sets December 23rd as the international release date for Dawnbringer's "XX" on CD and 12" vinyl formats. Like many funerals, Dawnbringer's "XX" is sudden, solemn, and brief, a dreamlike twist of old faces, bizarre incantations, and false comforts. It meditates on the nature of death and the infinity of grief, as well as the visceral climax of a closed box being lowered into the ground forever.

Regarding Dawnbringer’s future, bandleader Chris Black managed to say this: "Clues are more interesting than explanations. Too bad subtlety is out of style. But that has always been Dawnbringer’s comfort zone. It’s great that [2010’s] Nucleus turned out to be so popular, but I had a strange feeling at the time that something had malfunctioned. I’m glad we’ve been able to deflect that sensation back toward the audience in the meantime. For now, if confusion will be our epitaph, I gratefully accept."

Malacoda Releases "Penny Dreadful" Video

Set to release new EP "Ritualis Aeterna" on December 2nd, Canadian horror inspired symphonic power metallers Malacoda just unleashed a new music video for first single "Penny Dreadful."

The clip was directed, produced and edited by The Laundry Design Works and can be seen below. "Penny Dreadful" was inspired by the since canceled Showtime TV show of the same name.

The song explores the themes of the show, with each section carrying a different character's personal struggles. Just as the Showtime opus paid homage to horror's roots, the band's music video pays respects to classic horror films, using only practical effects to achieve everything from the dark corruption of the blood in the veins of the possessed woman, to the sped up and jerky motions the band members display as the song crescendos.

Malacoda comments: "The 'Penny Dreadful' video is something the band has wanted to do for a long time. Being involved with everything from the script, storyboard and even the production of the story scenes was great and let us guide where we wanted the video to go. Our upcoming ep release is a healthy dosage of things to come, we are just merely dipping our toes into a murky pool filled with horror and grandiosity and we hope our listeners take the plunge with us as we dive deeper into these darker areas." Dysrhythmia Announces Release Show, Festival Stop

NYC-based instrumental trio Dysrhythmia this week announces impending participation in The Covenant Festival Montreal 2017, as the band also prepares to play a hometown release show for "The Veil Of Control" this weekend.

Dysrhythmia will celebrate the Profound Lore release of seventh album, "The Veil Of Control," in the band's hometown of Brooklyn, New York this Saturday, November 5th. The gala goes down at Saint Vitus Bar, with support to be provided by Multicult and Cleric.

This week's issue of The Village Voice praisesL "The album continues the group's technical sound: Hufnagel riffs on a twelve-string guitar, and the trio embraces dissonance in its tempo and key changes. If anything, Veil is a little more ambient than their previous releases, but with their jazz influences and precise synchronicity, Dysrhythmia are hardly about to fade into the background."

Maladie Releases Preview For New EP "Symptoms"

After issuing the albums "Plaque Within" and "Still," German extreme metal act Maladie is unveiling the first ever EP on December 2nd, 2016. But “Symptoms” is not trying to shorten the incubation period. Instead, the plague continues to blaze a complex trail. Check out the teaser below to gain insight.

Different. A seemingly simple attribute, that gets new depths with every single release of Maladie. The EP “… symptoms…” reveals a further facet of differentness. Its running-time of nearly 42 minutes and the fact that there’s only one song on it don’t really correlate with the expectations on this format. The contained song “Divinitas – A Journey” also crushes conventions with its combination of unleashed extreme metal fury, mellow passages with pianos, saxophones, oboes and strings as well as polyphonic vocals and choirs. Their musical journey never unveils the next step to the listener which is perfectly shown on the atmospheric artwork (once again created by Remy of Headsplit Design). Maladie are different..."
