Threshold Added To 70000 Tons Of Metal

British progressive metal veterans Threshold are the latest band to be announced for the original heavy metal cruise, 70000 Tons Of Metal. This addition takes the list of confirmed bands to 41, with 19 more bands still to be announced. The cruise will set sail from Port Lauderdale, Florida on February 1st and head to the Grand Turk and Caicos Islands and back in a trek that will last until February 5th.

Mayhem Kicking Off North American Tour Today

Norwegian black metal legends Mayhem will descend upon North America for a month-long live takeover from November 3rd to December 2nd. Support will be provided by Immolation and Black Anvil, the latter of which appeared with the band on their last stateside expedition.

The tour follows the band's recent Purgatorium Europæ - Pars Duorum trek. Additionally, Mayhem will take part in the latest edition of the Decibel Metal And Beer Fest set to take place on March 31st-April 1st, 2018 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mayhem will perform on April 1st alongside Carcass, Repulsion, Dream Death, and more.

Polaris Premieres New Song "Lucid" From

Australia's Polaris premieres a new song entitled "Lucid", taken from the upcoming new album "The Mortal Coil", which is now available on LP, CD and digital via Resist Records / Sharptone Records. "The Mortal Coil" was recorded in Polaris' self-made studio in Mollymook, NSW, where they shipped American tandem, Carson Slovak and Grant MacFarland of Atrium Audio to oversee the recording.

Metallica: 'Damage, Inc.' 1987 Live Version Posted

Metallica has shared a never-before-heard live version of "Master of Puppets" classic "Damage, Inc.". Recorded during the group's January 25th, 1987 show at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany, it's one of many rarities exclusive to the remastered deluxe box set and 3xCD versions of the upcoming "Master of Puppets" reissue. The re-release will be out November 10th via the band's website and select record stores.
