The only thing that has changed is the recording and production quality - the new album definitely sounds better than the previous 2 albums of the band. This is pure traditional heavy metal for all those metalheads who can never get enough of Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest, Accept, old Running Wild, Grave Digger, etc."

Vocalist Ryo Kinoshita shares, “Before we started writing this album, we all knew this record would define who we are, where we stand and where we are heading. No matter how things around us change, we are who we are and we've always headed the same direction and it never changes. As I have written in the lyrics of 'True North,' this record shows how we live and how we die.”

Pissed On Releasing "The Hanged Man"

Advocate records is pleased to announce the release of "The Hanged Man" by Kentucky grinders Pissed On this coming March 17th, 2017. Forming in 2015, Pissed On hit the ground running as fast as it could, going on multiple tours and releasing a split with the Louisville band, Street Rat.

"The Hanged Man" is a primal 5-song release that will punish the listener with its piercing vocals and incredibly harsh instrumentation recorded by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, IL.

The band commented: "Pissed On is very excited to release our debut EP 'The Hanged Man' via Advocate Records. This record had drawn influence from a wide variety of acts such as Pig Destroyer, Discordance Axis, Swans, and Noothgrush as well as embuing the sounds of hardcore, grindcore, black metal, harsh noise, and death metal. Thematically, this record carries a narrative through 5 songs; a nihilist writes a final manifesto, in an attempt to warn the world of our true lack of purpose and the discouraging and sometimes relieving fact that we all die. It is an experiment in metal and melody and I hope you enjoy it."

Want to get Pissed On live? Catch the band on these upcoming tour dates:

11/29/16: Springfield, IL
11/30/16: Milwaukee, WI
12/01/16: Appleton, WI
12/02/16: Minneapolis, MN
12/03/16: Fargo, ND *SNOW & FLURRY FEST*

Abolitionist Releases 1st Song

Grind duo Abolitionist just released its first-ever song online titled "Under Penalty of Being Blocked." Check it out below. The band also comments:

"...aaaand here it is! Check it out - our first song, all 19 glorious seconds of it (Q: does a song technically require singing? A: who cares?). Time Attack Mode: See if you can read our new bio before the end of the song. Gogogo.

"Abolitionist is a grindcore recording project started by Chris Hawkins and Ollie Hynes in Nov 2016. The music is written in what would generally be considered reverse order, starting with Hynes' charged political lyrics. The lyrics are then broken into 'rhythmically interesting' patterns before drums are programmed and guitars are written and recorded. The low frequencies of Hawkins' heavily downtuned 7-string guitars are then manipulated to produce bass guitar-like tones.

"Can we stop writing this in the third person now? Okay so we used to have a band together in our teens and we've missed writing music together since. Unfortunately Ollie now lives in a different country and Chris has found himself co-running a music school and fronting various bands, so forming a band together isn't really do-able. So, we've put together this recording project here as a lyrical and musical outlet which we hope to work on as-and-when time allows. It could be a matter of months between new recordings, but keep yourself posted at our Facebook page for more angry semi-experimental noise. Noise?...Noish?...Noice!" More...

Hell's Crows Signs With Valery Records

Valery Records is proud to announce the release of the debut full length album "Hell’s Crows” by Italian power/progressive metal act Hell’s Crows. The new album will be released in 2017 by Valery Records, with distribution by Audioglobe. It will be available digitally via Itunes.

Hell’s Crows is an Italian metal band founded in 2006 by its singer and guitarist Randy Rush. During its first year of existence, the group acted primarily as a hard rock cover band playing pieces and later, between 2007 and 2008, produced the first studio demo, "Quiet Before Tempest”.

Subsequently the band shifted from a pure hard rock stance, which stood out in its first demo, to follow a heavier sound, heading towards metal influences which brought Hell’s Crows to self-produce a second release, the "Screaming Dead" EP in 2010.

This allowed the group to extend its live performances beyond its surroundings and obtain even more visibility in the Italian and German heavy metal stages.

From 2010 the group's sound further evolved with speed, power and progressive metal influences, drawing inspiration from legendary bands such as Angra, Helloween, Stratovarius and Symphony X.

2016 saw the completion of the newest work's mixing and mastering: "Hell's Crows", the band's first full length album, containing 11 tracks purely heavy/powerprog metal, with gothic and ethereal sounds; a mix of technical focus and sound mood assisted by electronic synths and classical metal riffs.

Hell's Crows struck an important partnership with Polish artist Maciej Wojtala for the album's graphics, concept designer of famous video games such as Epic Games' Gears of War: Judgment, People can fly's "Painkiller" and EA Games' "Bulletstorm." The album artwork can be viewed below.

More information is expected soon. More...
