Heavy Metal Black Friday Deals Revealed

It's almost Black Friday again (which for many stores has essentially just become "Black Month" as the sales start earlier and employees are expected to work all Thanksgiving) and you might not think that matters to metalheads, but many of the labels actually jump on that bandwagon.

Best of all - you don't have to go to a store at four in the morning to get these deals.

The holiday / Thanksgiving / Christmas sales are already ramping up through the various online distros, so if you're looking for new music on a budget, these heavy metal Black Friday deals will help you find new tunes.

This is just the start though, so check back in each day as we add in more deals. Specifically look for Amazon to launch something big soon, as that online juggernaut usually does $5 albums that rotate out each day. If you know of any metal sales that aren't listed below, be sure to leave a comment and we'll get it added.

And it's here - the Amazon $5 digital album sale arrives! Grab digital copies of music from Megadeth, Rage Against The Machine, Veil of Maya, Slayer, and more in rotating deals on full-length albums.

Most of the stock on the Nuclear Blast America shop - CDs, vinyl, shirts, etc. - are on sale for the "Blackest Friday," up to 45% off.

The Razorback Records webstore is offering 25% off your order if you buy at least $10 worth of music through November 30th.

The Thanksgiving Week Sale is now going at the Facedown Records web store with albums on sale for as little as $1.

Bullet Tooth is offering vinyl bundles on discount, ranging from $15 - $50 and featuring music from Earth Crisis, Memphis May Fire, Ritual, and more.

The Omega Order is offering 25% off a large selection of death metal, gore grind, and grindcore discs this week.

Comatose Music has an ongoing sale where you get a free CD of $10 or less if you buy three CDs totaling $30 - the deal stacks too, so you can get two free CDs at $60 and three free CDs at $90. More...

Culture Killer Streams Full New Album

In anticipation of the release of debut full-length "Throes of Mankind" this Friday (November 27th), Florida's Culture Killer is now streaming the album in full online! Listen in below, thanks to MetalSucks.net.

Having just completed a North American tour with Whitechapel and Psycroptic, Culture Killer is now on the warpath to educate the masses about the world's injustices with upcoming debut, "Throes of Mankind." Through 10 tracks of pummeling metallic hardcore, the disgruntled quintet successfully delivers a message with violent, malevolent fervor.

Culture Killer comments: "The band's purpose is to bring attention to the harsh realities that some people choose to disregard, whether it be misinformation or ignorance . The presence of these injustices and inequalities have always existed, but we believe they need to be brought to the forefront of discussion and ultimately changed.

"These topics include, but are not limited to, cultural decline, racism, child predators, domestic violence, drug & alcohol abuse, and the impact of war on the human mind. The evils of the world and the lack of compassion between human beings and their own kind. We hope that listeners leave with a firm understanding on how we feel about these subjects and join us in keeping them unveiled and visible." More...

Nordjevel Releasing Self-Titled Album

Nordjevel has a self-titled album due to drop on January 28, 2016 via Osmose Productions, and now the cover artwork and track listing are available below.

The band was formed by Doedsadmiral and Nord in the spring of 2015, when, after having had various conversations, they found that their views on black metal, the occult and the origins of Norway were perfectly in synch. When the idea of the band was mentioned to Swedish drummer Fredrik Widigs, he was interested enough to join the lineup.

No time was wasted, and the writing of this self-titled album began shortly after. Nordjevel is deeply rooted in traditional black metal, but provides a unique twist both in the compositions and the lyrical themes, manifesting the worst of the beast that is Scandinavian black metal.

1. The Shadows of Morbid Hunger
2. Sing for Devastation
3. Djevelen I Nord
4. The Funeral Smell
5. Denne Tidløse Krigsdom
6. Blood Horns
7. Det Ror og Ror

Dødheimsgard Announces European Tour

Norwegian outfit Dødheimsgard - which released fifth album "A Umbra Omega" earlier this year - is set to embark on a European tour in March of 2016 alongside Secrets Of The Moon, Thulcandra, and Our Survival Depends On Us.

"A Umbra Omega" was DHG’s first album since 2007’s "Supervillain Outcast" opus, and undoubtedly marked the band’s most challenging work to date of twisted, technical, and sprawling epics.

Dødheimsgard was formed in 1994 by Vicotnik & Aldrahn. The early incarnation was that of a raw and melodic black metal band, with debut album "Kronet til Konge" (20th anniversary edition coming December 11, 2015) also featuring Fenriz of Darkthrone on bass, before the poisons of a more avantgarde & schizophrenic concoction started to take hold. Catch the band live:

04.03.16 Germany Dresden @ Scheune
05.03.16 Germany Osnabrück @ Bastard Club
06.03.16 Germany München @ Backstage Halle
07.03.16 Germany Berlin @ Musik & Frieden

The Moth Gatherer Posts Lyric Video

Swedish atmospheric doom / sludge post-rock mavericks The Moth Gatherer just released a lyric video for new song, "Attacus Atlas."

The song is a part of the band's forthcoming album, "The Earth Is The Sky," set to be released on November 27, 2015 via Agonia Records. Commented by the band:

"'The Earth Is The Sky' is an album where we tried to take everything as far as we could. There where points during the recording where we honestly spoke about giving up and calling it a day, it felt like we would crumble under the album. But we suffered through.

"The result is a desperation about how humanity drags it all to the end. Where A Bright Celestial Light was an introvert journey into decay, 'The Earth Is The Sky' is a journey to the highest point on Earth where you sit down and contemplate about our existence while watching the flames from the burning world." Randy Blythe Comments On Tour Cancellation

As it turns out, Lamb Of God dropping the band's current European tour while tour-mates Children of Bodom and Sylosis continue on anyway has had some significant online backlash.

Some bands and fans have been angered that the group caved in to fear caused by recent terrorist attacks, while others have been more forgiving, citing the band's personal safety and Lamb Of God's poor track record when it comes to travelling Europe.

The situation has gotten to a point where Randy Blythe has released a very lengthy (think Wintersun rant level) article explaining why he originally said on-stage that they wouldn't quit the tour and then subsequently quit the tour.

If you've got a few spare years, the full text is available below. Children Of Bodom's Alexi Laiho also recently released a video statement commenting on the band continuing the tour, which can be seen here.

"At the request of management, I have agreed to write a post concerning our recently cancelled tour of Europe. I wouldn’t have bothered to do this on my own, since a rather self-explanatory general statement has already been made explaining our reasons for leaving and that seems more than sufficient to me- the basic gist of the post was that something specific occurred that made some of us in the band feel that it was unwise to continue on with the tour, potentially putting ourselves, our crew, and large numbers of defenseless people in harm’s way. Simple enough.

"And I won’t elaborate on the details of that occurrence here, since I have no wish to add to the atmosphere of speculation and fear that currently surrounds terrorist activities in Europe- there are way too many ill-informed running mouths across the globe making an already tense, highly complex, and extremely fluid situation on that continent even worse. I feel pretty ridiculous even writing this (who knew deciding to cancel a tour after venues you have played start getting blown up would require any sort of explanation to anyone?), but since I have been asked nicely to do so by the people I employ to manage my band, I will.
