Right in time for the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Dutch blackened death metal institution God Dethroned are pleased to announce a new chapter of their career. After having emerged in the extreme metal scene of the early 1990s and gaining international followership thanks to 12 albums that became genre milestones, God Dethroned have always remained loyal to their roots while still reinventing themselves: today, they are proud to announce their signing to Atomic Fire Records, and in anticipation of their upcoming Latin American tour, the band will reveal a surprisingly catchy yet brutal new single. You can already pre-save the upcoming track, "Asmodevs" here and also get a first sonic sneak peek via the signing video below.
"It's not just excitement, we are thrilled that Atomic Fire Records decided to add God Dethroned to their artist roster," front-man Henri Sattler comments on behalf of God Dethroned. "They were on top of our wish list of new labels to sign to, so you can definitely say that a dream came true! To celebrate this new endeavour, Atomic Fire Records will release our new single & video, 'Asmodevs,' on December 2nd, right before Eindhoven Metal Meeting and our Latin American tour. What a way to end this year!"
Atomic Fire Records co-founder/A&R Markus Wosgien adds, "We are happy to welcome one of the most enduring and uncompromising death metal bands of all time, God Dethroned, to Atomic Fire Records. What would the '90s have been without 'The Christhunt' and especially 'The Grand Grimoire' and 'Bloody Blasphemy?!' Henri Sattler is a master of his profession and with 'Illuminati,' he recently underlined that God Dethroned never fails to reinvent themselves. The upcoming new track basically says it all." More...
Young Swiss progressive death metallers Kassogtha celebrate the release of their stunning new album "rEvolve" (11th November, Klang Machine Music) with their new video for "Plume." You can check it out below.
Of "Plume," vocalist Stephany comments: "On 'rEvolve,' we set no limits to our creativity. It was a very challenging album for us to write and it pushed us way out of our comfort zones. Each of us went through times when we thought “oh wow, this is really hard, I don’t know if I’m going to make it…but let’s do it anyway”. As passionate musicians we can only hope that true metal fans will see the blood and tears we put in.
"'rEvolve’ is a perfectly timed release valve for the two years of isolation, anxiety and grief we all went through recently. That challenging time really shone a bright light for me on an endless cyclical loop of frustration, grief, addiction and hope many of us are stuck in without even realising it. The songs convey a mix of fury and anticipation that we didn’t even realise we felt so strongly, and the results were often surprising and emotional to us." More...
Swiss-French female-fronted symphonic power metal band Hartlight have signed with Wormholedeath for their EP, From Midland And Beyond", due for digital release on December 16th.
Hartlight was born in the minds of Noémie Allet and Adrien Djouadou. They both met in the context of music and fell in love with each other. They both share a passion for music, anime, mangas, video games, and games in general. Noémie wanted to write and compose songs and Adrien proposed to do the arrangements and the instruments. Together, they recorded the songs "Victorious Heart" and "Hartlight" while they were still searching for their style.
After reading Berserk together, Noémie had the idea to create a full EP about this incredible story. This context made the duo go into a more power metal style with symphonic elements to translate the epicness and emotions of the story. The EP would be called From Midland And Beyond, and had a first intimate release on Bandcamp. After a while, the label Wormholedeath spotted it on the internet and signed a first deal with the band. Now, Hartlight is writing an album about their favorite stories because they want to recall and share tales and works they love. The band wants to make people dream and take them on those journeys that gave them courage and support.
They plan to play live in the near future. They will be gathering members to complete the team and play their songs on stage after the first album will be fully written. More...
This past September, Montreal’s Eternal Closure unleashed the new album "At The Center Of It All – Chapter I." It is a diverse, heavier, and more technical record than anything they have done before. Demonstrating their songwriting abilities being taken to a new level along with incorporating elements of prog, and djent with their solid core base. The band is sharing with fans a behind the scene glimpse into the making of the record in the studio with producer Chris Donaldson, which can be viewed below.
"The album tracking was such a fun time and we thought it would be interesting to share this experience with our audience." adds the band.
Composed of six tracks, "At The Center Of It All – Chapter I" is the first of two parts that will have 13 in total. The band split their material like this to allow for maximum breathing time for each release. The second part can be expected next year.
Like their previous records, the album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy), who has become an integral part of the band’s sound. The album artwork was done by Pascal Marcoux and Jonathan Lauzon.
The band is a fun one to watch live, they don't take themselves too seriously, and the rare sight of three guitarists adds an extra dimension to their music that you never knew you were missing out on. "At The Center Of It All – Chapter I" is an incredible-sounding record that will blow people’s minds. It is recommended for fans of Periphery, Killswitch Engage, and As I Lay Dying. More...

German modern metal upstarts League Of Distortion have introduced an incredibly refreshing sound to the scene with the successful releases of fiery first singles "Wolf or Lamb" and "My Revenge," proving the musical finesse and experience of lead members Anna "Ace" Brunner (Exit Eden) and Jim "Arro" Müller (Kissin’ Dynamite). While the electrified third single "It Hurts So Good" recently added to their dangerous mood, the quartet goes all out by showing their most resilient side on final single "I’m A Bitch," landing just before the release of their self-titled debut album this Friday, November 25 via Napalm Records.
The vibrant formation doesn’t make any compromises by offering a wild, energetic sound that doesn't hide behind any norms. "I’m A Bitch" kicks off with hypnotizing rhythms, rising up to a grooving, hard-hitting soundscape while making an empowering statement with its music video.
League Of Distortion on "I’m A Bitch":
"This song is about social prejudice and inequality. Women and men are still being treated with different measures. With this provocative topic, song and music video, we are speaking up against this injustice, wanting to persuade you to reprogram the old patterns of thinking." More...

While the world's favourite hard rock monsters, Lordi, are currently busy touring Europe, they are already gearing up for the next chapter of their spooky history: today, the horde are proud to announce their signing to Atomic Fire Records. While their current 7-CD(!) album box, "Lordiversity," was released just one year ago, the famous Finnish group with mastermind Mr. Lordi have fully seized their time at home during the pandemic to record a follow-up album that will see the light of day in Spring 2023.
Lordi comments: "We are damn proud to announce that Lordi are joining the impressive ranks of Atomic Fire Records! We're quite psyched up to stir the pots with Markus Wosgien, Flori Milz and their fantastic team. Leaving AFM Records (thanks a million, Jochen) was not an easy decision for us since the support there was always great! Stay tuned monster maniacs, the next era is all set and ready and awaiting just right around the corner..."
Atomic Fire Records label founder/A&R Markus Wosgien adds, "With Lordi, we are happy to welcome another heavyweight of the heavy metal scene to Atomic Fire Records. 20 years ago, their fantastic debut »Get Heavy« was released and you simply had to love them! The combination of their monster image with traditional '80s metal was a real joy on every single one of their albums and is always a guarantee for a true metal inferno live on stage. What Mr. Lordi and his monster clan recently created on the 7-CD package 'Lordiversity' still leaves me speechless and will probably never be seen again in this form. We are looking forward to the next chapter with some new monster anthems par excellence!"
