Down Among The Dead Men Signs New Record Deal

Death metal supergroup Down Among The Dead Men has assembled a new album "...And You Will Obey Me" - which finds the band filthier and crustier than ever before. Sounding massive, Rogga Johansson has created his best music for the band yet, with Dave Ingram being in absolute top form throughout. Both members have put out highly successful albums in Paganizer and Ursinne respectively this year, not to mention the sensational Echelon release where they joined forces again.

The full length is scheduled for release in early 2018 and a new song will be unleashed soon.

Dave Ingram states, “Getting Down Among The Dead Men signed to Transcending Obscurity Records was the ideal move for myself and Rogga, since we both have bands already with this great label (Ursinne for me, Paganizer for Rogga, and Echelon jointly.) This is yet another notch in our respective bullet belts, and we are proud to bring the third Down Among The Dead Men album ‘…And You Will Obey Me’ to the world via Transcending Obscurity Records, one of the most hardworking labels on the scene.”

Rogga Johansson adds, "I just wanna riff, and riffing is what Down Among The Dead Men is all about. Riffing and the immense vocals of the legend himself David Ingram. So we did a new album, and its gonna blow you away, as its a really, really good one! And who better to release it than proven media mogul Kunal Choksi with his Transcending Obscurity? Well no one else at all. I’m utterly proud of this album, and how we release it, and I hope that anyone that needs some dirty deathly crust in their lives will agree to just that too."

Transcending Obscurity Records owner Kunal Choksi states, "It’s a continued honour to work with legends Rogga Johansson and David Ingram. Down Among The Dead Men have been one of my favourites and I was blown away after listening to their new album. It’s crusty as fuck and crushing as they’ve ever been. I’m sure this will be very well received and it’s great to have the support of both the gentlemen who have been very kind and cooperative all along. Both have been in phenomenal form too, what with their new albums of Paganizer and Ursinne (even Echelon) receiving an overwhelming response. This has been a great signing for the label so far and their new album will definitely be one of the highlights of 2018." More...

Silenmara Releases Music Video, New EP Revealed

Following a turbulent few months for the band, Florida melodic death metal outfit Silenmara has come back fighting with a brand new music video single and details of a polished EP produced by Jamie King that promotes their fight for musical freedom. Check out the video for the new single "Visionary." The song is available for purchase via Bandcamp at this location).

The song appears on the new EP "A Darkened Visionary" coming December 15th.

Guitarist Jason Gato commented on the song: "Lyrically, the song 'Visionary' was written about decisions. A person can take one of two roads. One simple mistake or miscalculation could be life changing or even fatal. On the other hand one focused and calculated decision can change a persons life for the best. It's all about your mindset and your ability to make serious decisions under pressure. When you're on a 'Bridge of defeat, could you stand for denial'?

"Musically we wrote this song for one specific purpose, to deliver an emotion. We wanted our people to feel the love we have for this music. It is filled with guitar melodies and odd time trickery that we have come to embrace in our writing. A very catchy guitar lick meets an aggressive vocal melody begging for guidance and hoping for forgiveness. We chose this song for its ability to find its way into your mind and stay. Our Vision of musical freedom." More...

At the crossroad between a hallowed holiday and the cusp of a dead cold winter is where you’ll find Autumns Eyes mastermind Daniel Mitchell. After many seasons of seclusion in the studio, the recording process has finally wrapped up for a new album titled "Ending Life Slowly."

"With 'Ending Life Slowly' being inspired by death and decay that takes place during the latter part of Fall, starting the album with a song dedicated to Halloween was a natural first step. It marks an end to the most hallowed month of the year, and celebrates its macabre mayhem before we enter the cold void of November.”

Hailing from Oakland, CA, the six piece crushing tribe of doom Catapult the Dead are teaming up with San Francisco's Doom Stew Records for the new full length release "A Universal Emptiness," which is due to drop on November 15th.

Catapult the Dead brings to the genre its own version of musical sorrow, despondency, and longing. This unique and haunting outfit is as beautifully devastating as it is callous and brooding.

"A Universal Emptiness" is a 38:39 minute apocalyptic journey. Sweeping synth and organ soundscapes lead you eerily, through a dark thunderous wall of sound. With thick brutal guitars at the core, it's rhythmic foundation is dragged angrily along by layered bass and powerful booming drums. All the while baleful roars and ghostly wales round out this bleak, crushingly dynamic, full length offering.

Down 'N' Outz To Release New Live Album

Down 'n' Outz is pleased to announce the release of a brand new live album "The Further Live Adventures Of..." on December 1st, via Frontiers Music Srl. The live album, recorded in Sheffield Corporation in December 2014, will be available 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray, vinyl and digital. In addition, on the same day, the band will reissue the previous records "My Re-Generation" and "The Further Adventures Of..." on CD, LP and Digital. Check out the clip for "Overnight Angels" in the player below.

Down 'N' Outz is the project founded and fronted by Def Leppard's Joe Elliott and backed by members of The Quireboys, Wayward Sons and Raw Glory. The band pays tribute to rock legends Mott The Hoople and was established from the most unusual of circumstances...in the words of Joe Elliott: "When Mott The Hoople announced they were reforming for a week's worth of shows at the Hammersmith Odeon I was asked that I participate in some capacity. They've always been my favourite band and it's nice to see the rest of the rock world finally catch up and give them their due."

"But, what was I to do? It was suggested to me that the Quireboys would be up for offering their services. This was perfect! A fan since their first album, I loved the idea of working with a band as enthusiastic to do this as I was. I decided that the thing to do was play some songs that like-minded people thought they would never hear live again, if ever, songs by spin offs of Mott the Hoople - songs by Mott, Ian Hunter and British Lions. Songs that are close to my heart, songs that I've played every week for the best part of 35 years on record, cassette, CD, iPod and now live."

Down 'N Outz supported Mott The Hoople at one of the legendary 2009 reformation shows at Hammersmith Odeon. Following a rapturous reception, the one night project took on a life and energy of its own and an album project was born. More...

Now FS Projekt takes this good practice to the next level by presenting a translation video for the latest single "Kredo Tvoyo" (Thy Creed).

Tongues To Release Debut Full Length "Hreilia"

Danish black/death metal act Tongues will release the debut full length album "Hreilia" on December 8th via I, Voidhanger Records.

Tongues debuted in 2014 under the flag of I, Voidhanger Records with "Thelésis Ignis," a portentous 35-minute long EP which earned them the praises from the underground metal aficionados. Apparently swallowed by the shadows right after that promising release, Tongues has simply kept a low profile and concentrated for 3 long years on the second chapter of the doomed spiritual journey. That journey spawned "Hreilia," a new and exciting example of Tongues' audacious synthesis of black, death and doom metal, propelled by fiery riffs, magnetic melodies and mystical atmospheres.

Enshrouded like its predecessor in an esoteric dark aura and graced by an apocalyptic cover painting by vocalist A. Lovmand, "Hreilia" delves even deeper into the realms of subconscious. "The underlying concept of the album was inspired by a dream; that's where the word 'Hreilia' comes from," confirms drummer and lyricist C. Qvortrup. "That word held a significant spiritual value within the context of that dream. It symbolized a profound spiritual disappointment...a nightmare."

Tongues' pessimistic approach to the new album is quite evident even during its most aggressive moments, when the inner fire that characterized the previous EP bursts out nervously from the articulated structures of "Grove Of Mithridate" and "Theophagous Wounds Of Earth," two examples of the band's trademark style, hanging in the balance between utmost aggression and psychedelic meditation. As the album progresses, the melodies become slowly - yet steadily - more depressive and defeated, 'till Tongues' ferocious inner struggle concludes and gives way to sadness and disillusionment.

The track list for "Hreilia" is:

1. Perennial Waves
2. Theophagous Wounds of Earth
3. Interlude
4. ...and the Ever Watchful Clouds
5. Grove of Mithridate
6. Acumen Numinous
7. Hreilia More...
