Diablo Swing Orchestra Announces New Album

Swedish avant-metal act Diablo Swing Orchestra has confirmed details of the upcoming new album titled "Pacifisticuffs." The 13-track album will be released on December 8th via Candlelight/Spinefarm.

The eight-headed beast behind "Pacifisticuffs" is notoriously hard to pigeonhole; although comfortable nestled in the rock and metal worlds, they incorporate elements of jazz, prog and even classical music. With tongues firmly in cheek, they take a sideways look at the world we live in and sprinkle their musical output with a healthy dose of theatrical sparkle.

Since the release of the last album "Pandora's Piñata" in 2012, lead vocalist Annlouice Lögdlund departed the band and has been replaced by Kristin Evegård. Evegård has wasted no time integrating into the band, and along with an all-round more democratic process, has added her lyrical and composition skills into the mix for "Pacifisticuffs."

The core style and approach of the band remains recognizable, but the band has turned its sights outwards rather than inwards. Less introspective than previous releases, "Pacifisticuffs" offers an expression of life's highs and lows and everything in between, all delivered with that recognizable Diablo Swing Orchestra touch of Technicolor.

The track list and cover art are as follows:

1. Knucklehugs (Arm Yourself With Love)
2. The Age of Vulture Culture
3. Superhero Jagganath
4.Vision of the Purblind
5. Lady Clandestine Chainbreaker
6. Jigsaw Hustle
7. Pulse of the Incipient
8. Ode to the Innocent
9. Interruption
10. Cul-De-Sac Semantics
11. Karma Bonfire
12. Climbing the Eyeball
13. Porch of Perception More...

Indian metal act Kapala is streaming the new song "Homosapiennihilation" on its Bandcamp page. Check it out in the player below. The track hails from the band upcoming debut EP "Infest Cesspool," which is set for release on November 27th via Dunkelheit Produktionen.

Formed in the depths of Kolkata, India, Kapala have had one - and only one - objective since its formation: to play the most intense and bestial musick and annihilate the cesspool. Inspired by such legends such as Goatpenis, Revenge, Black Witchery, Blasphemy, Conqueror, and many other violent entities, Kapala seeks to wage total sonic warfare with a strong obsession for the concept of "Survival of the Fittest." And indeed, they accomplish that in the swift 'n' decisive 20 minutes comprising their first public recording, "Infest Cesspool."

There will be nothing left but scorched earth and eviscerated eardrums after this "Infest Cesspool" has been wiped clean - Kapala's martial dominance will prevail! The cover track listing are as follows:

Death On Fire Calls Out "American Scum"

Death On Fire has teamed up with Nine Circles to reveal a new video for the single "American Scum," which you can check out at this location, or even better, down in the player below. Order the single at this location.

The track is a three and a half minute scorcher of melodic death metal and is highly recommended for fans of Carcass and At The Gates.

Band founder Tim Kenefic commented "This video along with the lyrical content is meant to show how the corporate aristocracy is ruining this country with lies, false promises, and a shameless distain for the middle and lower classes. We have the ability to change that but we are to ignorant and or uninformed. We need action at the ballots not marches and memes."

Arkona Details New Album "Khram"

"Khram" is the Russian word for temple - and the upcoming title of Arkona's hotly anticipated eighth studio album, which set to be released on January 19th via Napalm Records!

A 'Khram' is a temple shrouded in natural mysticism slumbering behind nocturnal treetops, yet open to everyone. The sincerity and depth that binds all five band members together resonates in the sumptuously dark cover artwork and leading lady Masha`s lyrics that are written in her own blood (which is also part of the artwork)! Arkona used sound samples in its early days, but nowadays cellos, brass parts, wind instruments and throat singing are recorded live meticulously and flow naturally into the band's harsh metal tunes.

King-sized songs effortlessly shift from blackened pagan metal masterpieces to epic tracks with crystal-clear melodies and piano infusions. Mark your calendars for January 19th as Arkona's "Khram" is an exuberant and demanding affair that defies genre boundaries with untamable spirit!

Now Russia's leading pagan metal band has unveiled the stunning album artwork and track list for "Khram":

1. Mantra (Intro)
2. Shtorm
3. Tseluya zhizn'
4. Rebionok bez imeni
5. Khram
6. V pogonie za beloj ten'yu
7. V ladonyah bogov
8. Volchitsa
9. Mantra (Outro) More...

Circus Veil Signs With Into The LimeLight

Into the Limelight Records is happy to announce the signing of a very cool and fabulous band from Greece, Circus Veil. The band's first album with the label will be entitled "NU Life." More information on the album is expected soon.

Circus Veil's journey starts back in 2012 in Thessaloniki, Greece, forging the name as a high energy alternative metal band. It was not before 2013, when the band issued the self-titled demo and while having the road open ahead, a couple of years later the gang released four new singles and later the first EP called “A.R.” came to life via Straight From The Heart Records.

Currently, the band is working on the finishing touches on their debut full length release! It’s name? Nu Life, a NEW Life Experience for the listeners. The stage performance is often being referred as "the non-stop adrenaline Rock n’ Roll show" by reviewing critics. Until now, the gang has already visited the most parts of Greece, rocking every single city on the way. Moments of great significance would be the times when Circus Veil shared the stage with John Lynn Turner (Deep Purple), Enforcer, Laki Ragazas (Mystic Prophecy, Devil’s Train), Adept, Barb Wire Dolls, Kin Beneath Chorus and many more foreign and local artists. Stay tight!

The ultimate experience has just begun... More...

Belgian heavy music act Amenra is streaming the entire album "Mass VI" ahead of its release via Neurot Recordings on October 20th.

Check out the album via The Independent at this location, or simply in the player below the track listing.

It’s difficult to think of a better person to capture this sonic enormity than Billy Anderson. The legendary American producer was already the chosen one for "Mass V," and between Neurosis’ "Through Silver In Blood," Sleep’s "Dopesmoker," Eyehategod’s "Dopesick," Cathedral’s "Endtyme" or Brutal Truth’s "Sounds Of The Animal Kingdom," among many, many others, he’s been a decisive element in the building of many a true classic. "Mass VI" was recorded in the Belgian Ardennes, a region of thick forests in the southeast end of the country, where the band was snowed in for a week. The album is a reflection of these times.

The track listing for the album is:

1. Children of the Eye
2. Edelkroone
3. Plus près de toi (Closer to you)
4. Spijt
5. A solitary reign

Aosoth Releases New Single

French black metal devotees Aosoth released the new song "Silver Dagger And The Breathless Smile," the second single from the upcoming fifth studio album "V: The Inside Scriptures," which drops via Agonia Records on November 17th via Agonia Records. Check out the song in the player below.

Aosoth is the second project of vocalist & lyricist MkM (the founder of Antaeus) evolving in the black/death metal genre. While Antaeus sets boundaries for violent, grinding black metal, Aosoth delivers more dissonant and 90's death metal elements combined with the work of guitarist & producer Bst (The Order Of Apollyon, VI), who composed the music on the album. The duo is accompanied by bassist INRVI (the founder & mastermind of VI) and Saroth (Hell Militia, Temple of Baal) on second guitar.

"V: The Inside Scriptures" is a closing chapter of Aosoth's musical and lyrical concept. Distinctive and downright suffocating, the album shows many differences to "III" & "IV: Arrow In Heart", the two previous full-length releases, especially in terms of atmosphere. The recordings took nearly three years and were interrupted by many events in the personal lives of MkM & Bst. At some point, the album was about to be abandoned and never released.

The track listing for the album is:

1. A Heart To Judge
2. Her Feet Upon The Earth, Blooming The Fruits Of Blood (song available here)
3. The Inside Scriptures
4. Premises Of A Miracle
5. Contaminating All Tongues
6. Silver Dagger And The Breathless Smile

The Walking Dead Orchestra Streams New Album

"Resurrect," the latest full-length from French death metal collective The Walking Dead Orchestra, is available for streaming in full in the player at the bottom. The album was just released this past Friday, October 13th via Unique Leader Records.

Said the band of the self-produced offering, "We conditioned ourselves to unleash our primal influences, it's a back-to-the-roots process with old-school riffs tuned to the more modern sound. We are proud of this combination. Each song has its own identity. We recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire album by ourselves at our own studio, Spike Recording Studio, which allowed us to keep every step of the production process under control. This gave us the time and freedom to really develop our sound. This album imposes an ambiance with many twists and surprises and the songs structures are more mature. This is a new chapter for the band but also for the Architect, the main character of The Walking Dead Orchestra's concept which takes place through a post-apocalyptic world. Morbid Angel Issues More Details On New Album

Legendary death metal unit Morbid Angel will unleash the ninth studio album on December 1st via Silver Lining Music and JVC in Japan. Titled "Kingdoms Disdained," the record reunites founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth with bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker.

Just one play of Morbid Angel's searing "Kingdoms Disdained," and you'll realize that this is the only true current aural document of a world sinking into uncharted despair. "The album title says it all," says Tucker, "everybody's fed up and nobody can figure out how to fix it. We've got all these miniature wars in neighborhoods, cities, countries, and we've got people with varying opinions causing chaos, yet everyone is doing what they feel is right. Which all makes it feel like the world has reached a point of utter madness and confusion."

As if fate constructed the moment, these forefathers of death metal found themselves witnessing the storm's eye as they prepared to create "Kingdoms Disdained," deciphering it with their ferocious music via long-held Sumerian-based beliefs. "It's been written but nobody pays attention, because we erase our history," furthers Tucker. "We don't understand much about the Sumerian texts because things got erased, buried, and broken up. And for years, Trey and I talked a lot about the idea of those Gods waking up and coming back to show us that they're angry." More...

Anvil Announces New Album "Pounding The Pavement"

Legendary Canadian metal act Anvil announced the next installment in three word album titles - "Pounding the Pavement." The album will be released on January 19, 2018 through SPV/Steamhammer as a digipak version (+1 bonus track and poster), 2LP gatefold colored version, digital download and streaming platforms.

Of course there are bands that have garnered higher chart positions, sold more albums and filled bigger venues than Anvil. Yet there are few metal acts that have earned as much respect from colleagues as the Canadian act surrounding vocalist/guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner. The most renowned Anvil aficionados include, among others, international stars such as Metallica and the late Lemmy of Motörhead, who have expressed their unreserved admiration time and again. The reasons for this evident respect are obvious: since 1978, Anvil has been the epitome of a passionate heavy metal band that refuses to be thrown off course by setbacks, adverse conditions and inconsistencies on the business side of things. The latest album "Pounding The Pavement" proves their impressive stamina: never before have Anvil sounded as diverse, determined and inspiring.

Why has "Pounding The Pavement" turned into such an awesome offering? Kudlow's explanation is simple: "The songwriting process started immediately after the work on our previous album, 'Anvil Is Anvil,' had been completed," he says. "So our thoughts instantly turned to the future again. After 'Anvil Is Anvil' had been cut, everybody knew what we had just delivered and what Anvil's future should sound like."

Despite the diverse range of their ideas, Kudlow, Reiner and their bassist Chris Robertson have succeeded in filling the typical trademarks of this unusual band with life once again - which is an important aspect for every Anvil release, after all tradition and reliability play an essential role in this group. Kudlow: "Of course we always allow inspirations from earlier recordings to seep in, but always with an emphasis on evolving the characteristic Anvil sound. Lots of fans keep asking us to play the way we did in the so-called good old days. That's why I try from time to time to pick up on that exciting feel of our older material. Mind you, it's always exclusively about the basic atmosphere of that time, never about copying an older song." More...

As for the track, the band says, "”One of our favorite days of the year is here, Friday the 13th and what better way to celebrate it than to release the second single from our upcoming album '1981'! We give you, the aptly titled 'Friday the 13th, Pt 2.' Twice the terror, twice the thrash!”

“The idea with the album, inspired by Corpse Mania, Night School as well as the timeless classics Halloween II and 'Friday the 13th, Pt 2' is to take the listener back to the old days. Back when you and your friends went to the local video store to rent video cassettes and weren’t able to download your movies from the internet”. More...

Terminal Function Issues New Single "Chiral Ghost"

Stockholm based technical death metal band Terminal Function dropped the first single from the upcoming new EP "Krakstören," teaming up with Unsung Melody to premiere it over at this location. You don't really have to go anywhere, however, since the track is also streaming in the player just at the bottom.

"Krakstören" qas recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Terminal Function in the band's own Soundfraction Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. The EP will be released by Swedish music label Stupid Dream Records, run by the band's guitarist, Stefan Aronsson.

On the new song, guitarist Mikael Almgren says, "The lyrics were inspired by a dream I had about meeting your past and future shadow self. I guess you could see it as a metaphor for reflecting and be aware of your past and at the same time think ahead, keeping different time perspective in your mind simultaneously.

The music alters quite a bit between the usual tech metal odd time signatures, fast parts and slow heavy sections with some haunting guitar parts, which made me think the topic of the lyrics would suit this song."
