Holt Doesn't Expect Slayer To Release A New Album

Slayer guitarist Gary Holt (also of Exodus) doesn’t expect the band to release another album before they call it quits. Comments Holt recently to The Metal Voice:

“No. No, there’s no new album. I’d say it’s a no. But my name is Gary ‘No Comment’ Holt today. I don’t know nothing. You’ve seen the dates, you saw the press releases. And come out and celebrate the mighty history of Slayer, which I’m lucky to have been part of for the last seven years now. It’s been a ride, it’s been remarkable, and we’re gonna end it in gloriously violent fashion.”

This news may come as a bummer for fans, given there was a surplus of material leftover from the sessions for the group's latest album, “Repentless“. Slayer will be bringing their career to an end following a final world tour. So far the dates for the North American leg of that run can be found below: More...

Cattle Decapitation bassist Derek Engemann announces his departure from the band, sharing the below statement via Facebook:

“It’s been a great journey, but I’m writing to let everyone know I have amicably parted ways with Cattle Decapitation. I’m very proud of the success we achieved together across the last two albums. In turn, I’m excited to focus my energy on the next upcoming Scour release, my reignited project Cast The Stone (huge news in the coming days), and the other big plans I have in the works. Thank you to everyone for the support, and I’ll see you at NAMM!”

As mentioned above, he will focus to Scour, which features Phil Anselmo and members of Pig Destroyer.
