Crown Magnetar Signs With Unique Leader

Unique Leader has announced the signing of American modern deathcore juggernaut Crown Magnetar. Their forthcoming EP "Alone In Death" will be released on 25th March.

Crown Magnetar commented: "While as a band we’ve always been about incredibly fast, incredibly jarring deathcore with a lot of death metal influence, Alone In Death was written with speed and captivation in mind the whole time, on top of our go-to writing styles. At the same time, we’ve added an emphasis on emotional depth, making sure the riffs and beats were as memorable as they were extreme. Everyone goes through varying degrees of hardship, pain and isolation. Alone in Death reflects that both lyrically and emotionally."

With a compelling combination of tech, core and death elements, Crown Magnetar emerged in 2017 showcasing technical riffs, relentless blast beats and crushing yet dynamic vocals. Releasing "The Prophet of Disgust" EP in 2018, the band followed up with their critically acclaimed debut full-length entitled "The Codex Of Flesh" on 30th April, 2021 which they supported with a US tour alongside Lorna Shore.

Sadist To Release New Album In May

Italian progressive death metal legends Sadist (feat. Obscura's Jeroen Paul Thesseling and ex-Necrophagist's Romain Goulon) have revealed a bunch of fresh details surrounding the upcoming new album "Firescorched," including cover artwork, tracklisting and release date.

Firescorched will be released via the band's new label home Agonia Records on May 20, 2022. A new digital single titled "Finger Food" is planned to be revealed on February 18, alongside a list of available album formats. Pre-orders are scheduled to be open at the same time.

"Firescorched" is the fastest, highly experimental and most extreme album of Sadist's career. The songs are fresh, embrace blast beats and give away a horror vibe, in combination with gloomy and anguished lyrics. The band's adventurous style, featuring jazz and Middle-Eastern influences, pierces through a veil of progressive death metal that cloaks nine new compositions (eleven, if counting two bonus songs). Comeback Kid Posts New Music Video Online

This past Friday, Canadian hardcore heavyweights Comeback Kid released their anticipated seventh studio album, "Heavy Steps" via Nuclear Blast Records.

"We are over the moon to finally put out 'Heavy Steps'," shares lead vocalist Andrew Neufeld. "This album's journey started 2 years ago when the pandemic hit and has brought us here today as one of the most collaborative efforts we have had the privilege to be involved in. From writing the album from across country to meeting Winnipeg to jam and eventually record. Having a mixer like Will Putney get involved and bringing the sonic elements to life. It has truly been an honour."

Alongside the album release, Comeback Kid have unveiled a high energy live performance video directed by Dylan Gould for focus track "Face the Fire."

Neufeld had this to say about their latest video, "We were finally able to operate as a band again and tour over the last 5 months and this new video 'Face The Fire' is a collection of footage and photos that I collected over that time. It is an accurate reflection of what our live shows encompass and that specific energy that we have missed so much." More...
