Persefone Releases New Music Video

Persefone are known for technical precision at its highest levels, and with their newest single "Katabasis" – out now alongside an astounding new music video created with the support of SDADV – draw dramatic, cinematic soundscapes mixed with electronic influences. The soft, clear vocals of Marc Martins alternate with sharp growls and bleak yet dynamic riffs. This ride ties in with the well-received first single "Merkabah" and leaves you anxiously awaiting Persefone’s upcoming album, "metanoia!"

Persefone on "Katabasis":
""Katabasis" stands as the opening track of the new album and marks an important event when it comes to the concept of ‘metanoia’, as it led us to the depths of the being.
This song displays many of the elements that can be heard throughout the album, and we hope that it welcomes the listener to the journey we want to offer with all this new music."

"metanoia" will be released on February 4th through Napalm Records. More...

Nightrage Posts New Music Video Online

Greek/Swedish melodic death metal stars, Nightrage, have released a video for "Falsifying Life", featured on their upcoming album, "Abyss Rising," available in February. Watch the clip below.

An album that is the band's vision of mankind living in its own hell - a hell it has created through the destruction of the planet. Inspired in part by Dante's Inferno, the album explores man’s continual destruction of the world we live in until the abyss opens up to consume all before it.

The abyss has risen from the depths, and hell has now turned outside in to be able to rise to earth to claim us. The album captures Nightrage in a spectacular form; incisive, brutal, uncompromising, and unforgettable. Musically the band have embraced a harder, faster, and brutal approach, still rich in melodic intent but characteristically heavy and aggressive. Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at Studio Fredman (Architects, In Flames, Opeth, etc.), Abyss Rising is a formidable sonic masterpiece.

The album will be released on February 18 via Despotz Records. More...

Ingested Shares New Music Video

The kings of British death metal, Ingested, are kicking of 2022 with the release of "Rebirth," a taste from their upcoming album, slated for release this fall on Metal Blade Records. The track comes as the trio hit US shores this week supporting Fit For An Autopsy through February.

"‘Rebirth‘ has arrived at quite an important time for Ingested. We've shed our skin and transformed into our next phase,” proclaims frontman Jason Evans. “We decided on a live video for the single as we've missed the bubbling intensity of playing live so much over the past year or so, we really wanted capture the destructive nature of an Ingested show. Unchained, unleashed and unburdened, we're ready to show the world what Ingested is truly capable of, and to all our fans, thank you for sticking with us through the years, the best is yet to come!" Meshuggah Announces New Album "Immutable"

Destined to be one of 2022’s most hailed and talked-about releases, "Immutable" once again showcases Meshuggah’s collective brilliance, including some of the most jaw-dropping ensemble performances they have ever executed.

Six years on from the band’s most recent full-length, "The Violent Sleep Of Reason", 2022 brings a fresh and fearsome revelation from Meshuggah. Shattering even the highest of expectations, the band’s ninth album is simply their wildest and most esoteric sonic adventure yet and will be released on April 1st via Atomic Fire Records. Recorded at Sweetspot Studios in Halmstad (Sweden), mixed by Rickard Bengtsson & Staffan Karlsson and mastered by multiple Grammy award winner Vlado Meller (Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down), "Immutable" will be available in various CD, vinyl and tape formats and goes into pre-sale on January 28th, and the first single will be revealed very soon. The stunning cover artwork was once again created by visionary artist Luminokaya.

For guitarist Mårten Hagström, the task of embarking on another unprecedented tech-metal odyssey was impossible to resist.

"The title fits perfectly for where we are as a band," Mårten concludes. "We’re older now. Most of us are in our fifties now, and we’ve settled into who we are. Even though we’ve been experimenting all along, I also think we’ve been the same since day one. The way we approach things and why we still make new albums, and why we still sound the way we do, it’s immutable. Humanity is immutable, too. We commit the same mistakes over and over. And we are immutable. We do what we do, and we don’t change." More...
