W.A.S.P. Announces Tour With Armored Saint

"June 6, 2022 marks the 40th Anniversary of the band that has rocked and shocked, thrashed, trashed and blasted its way into shock and roll history. Your band, the world’s band… my band W.A.S.P.," states an update from Blackie Lawless.

To celebrate, the band will embark on their first U.S tour in a decade and take fans back through 40 years of madness. Coming along for the trek are L.A.’s Armored Saint, who are also celebrating their 40th Anniversary. And as a special treat, Michael Schenker will appear on the Texas and Tulsa shows.

Blackie Lawless commenting on the US tour, "For over 10 years we have not toured on U.S. soil. But starting Oct. 28th, 2022… we return. 10 years I’d want, 10 years I’ve cussed, 10 years I’d lust to return…. To my home land… and be a Wild Child, a Love Machine, to be Blind in Texas, On Your Knees and Headless."

Joined by bassist Mike Duda, and Doug Blair whose time in the band is 26 and 18 years, along with drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester, they will take the band and the fans back to where it all started, complete with the stage show extravaganza that many fans never saw live

Blackie concludes: "So join me and the band, and very special guests Armored Saint, as we celebrate W.A.S.P 40th Anniversary Tour… Back in the US…. Back to the Beginning. I’m gonna scream, cause I wanna feed, cause I wanna bleed, cause I Wanna Be Somebody. W.A.S.P. 40th Anniversary Tour… Back in the US…. Back to the Beginning." More...

Dagoba Releases "On The Run" Music Video

Following their powerful single "The Last Crossing," Dagoba’s brand new track, "On The Run," marks a melodic moment for the French modern metal upstarts on their upcoming album, "By Night," out February 18 via Napalm Records. A harmonic duet of soothing juxtaposed vocals shows Dagoba breaking free from genre limitations once more, proving them to be on the cusp of entering the hall of fame of modern metal.

Dagoba on the new single "On The Run": "I always wanted to release a track which verses only contain a piano and vocals and now it’s done! The main idea was to create a contrast between the calm of the vers and the huge chords leading to the chorus, where the voice is the main line. From the begining of the writing process, I knew that a female vocalist would join me on that track, and that is also brand new for us. On The Run is a daring track, but it will make you want to play it on repeat!"

After putting their stamp on the metal scene with their unique blend of metal and neckbreaking grooves, and relentlessly touring and sharing the stage with legendary acts like Metallica, Machine Head and In Flames, the French four-piece is gearing up to reach the next level with their most ambitious material yet. Fall Of Stasis Posts New Music Video Online

Fall of Stasis hails from Montreal, Canada and they are releasing their first full-length on February 25th entitled "The Chronophagist." The ten pounding tracks contained within showcase the wide range of influences behind the six musicians culminating in brutal symphonic music that coasts between the black metal and prog realms and is as unpredictable as it is cohesive. The first look at what's in store on this album is the single "The Cult."

Through "The Chronophagist," Fall Of Stasis brandishes fictive storytelling from start to finish, although the lyrics often symbolize modern social issues along with some of the band members’ personal experiences. The lyrics are based on the album’s concept as a whole, and the writing style is heavily inspired by some of the band's favourite lyricists in the metal scene including Dani Filth, Michael Åkerfeldt, and Chuck Schuldiner.

"The Cult" is about a pagan cult that heavily indulges in psychoactive substances. The song starts with a syncopated section followed by a folky yet intense main riff solidified by fast and sustained blast beats. The band explains it in their own words:

"This song was probably the one that was written in the shortest amount of time. Tristan had written the main riff many years ago and we all liked it, so we decided to write a song based on it. We felt it was catchy and upbeat, but still dark and aggressive enough to catch the listener’s attention. We chose this song for our clip because it’s a short and well-rounded song that gives an accurate depiction of the sound we’re going for and the theme would easily translate into an interesting storyline for the video. The dark lyrics coupled with upbeat riffs make for an interesting contrast that brings the song to another level." More...

Riff-maestro Abbath Doom Occulta cements his place among the metal hierarchy with Dread Reaver, his third album with eponymous project Abbath. His signature blend of blistering speed metal, traditional metal influences, and touch of ice cold black metal creates a sound and style that is distinctly his. Konvent Reveals New Album Details

After their debut full-length album, "Puritan Masochism," took the entire doom and heavy metal scene by storm upon its release two years ago, March 11, 2022 will see critically acclaimed Danish blackened death doom outfit Konvent return with a sophomore offering that doubles down on the band’s songwriting talent and brutal, heavy sound!

The sonic evolution of Konvent over the course of just two years is immediately evident on "Call Down The Sun," surprising with new elements at every turn. Undoubtedly inspired by recent dark times, the ongoing pandemic and cancellation of live performances, the new album sees the Copenhagen-based band more pissed off, fast-paced and pitch black throughout. Rikke Emilie List’s guttural, sublime growls and fierce screams perfectly integrate with a heavy as hell wall of blackened death and funeral doom metal riffs from guitarist Sara Helena Nørregaard, backed by a thick, profound rhythm section provided by bassist Heidi Withington Brink and drummer Julie Simonsen.

But give ear, as today Konvent has unleashed a first single taken from "Call Down The Sun!" "Grains" is a ground-shaking, stomping black doom metal epos that will be a must-hear on the band’s upcoming live setlists – showcasing their deep black soul with a hint of post-metal and even progressive elements. You can watch the video below. More...
