Rock Band To Discontinue DLC, Stop Offering Rock Band Network For PS3

It's the end of an era for music games: Harmonix has announced that no new official DLC will be coming for the Rock Band series of games, although according to a press release users will still be able to submit new content to the Rock Band Network for the Xbox. However, the Rock Band Network will no longer be available for PS3 players.

The Rock Band Network site is currently offline, only providing the following message:

"So RockBand.com is down. Sorry for the hassle. There were some server surprises earlier this week and the team is hard at work to get things back up and running as soon as possible. We should have more info shortly.

"This outage is unrelated to the end of weekly Rock Band DLC and we fully intend to keep the site up and running so our community still has a place to converse, discuss legacy DLC, join giveaways, get support tips, and reminisce about their favorite moments from the last 5+ years.

"While you’re waiting for the site to come back, check out The Story of Rock Band, a short video tribute we put together for the launch of “American Pie”, the final DLC release in a 281 week run of content."
