Prosthetic Records And Metal Blade Pull Music From Spotify

Now that both Napalm Records and Century Media have officially pulled their catalogs from online music site Spotify, it appears that more metal labels are following suit.

L.A. Weekly is reporting that Prosthetic Records has now also officially removed its roster from Spotify, with Prosthetic co-owner E.J. Johantgen commenting, "There [does] not appear to be an upside. The only income from the service comes in fractions of pennies."

Although there has been no official statement from the label yet, metal news sites are also widely reporting that Metal Blade Records has begun removing albums from the Spotify service.

To see what one musician has had to say about the situation, you can check out a post from Borknagar's Jens F. Ryland about Century Media's departure from Spotify at this location.
