About The Writers: January 2011 Activity

Metalunderground.com is run by a wide range of diverse contributors who are devoted to both metal and the wider musical world. Several of our staff members are involved with side projects going on outside of the website that you may be interested in checking out. For the month of January we'll take a look at new columns, new interviews, and musical projects from our contributors.

David S. Grant (aka Rockstar_Scribbler) continues his weekly The Rockstar Ramblings column as well as book reviews. He will also soon be contributing to the Sunday Old School column with features on Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, and W.A.S.P. David has recently re-released his book "Rock Stars," and is planning a book tour in 2011 for his new novel, "Blood-The New Red." To send a metal, glam, or rock pop culture related question for inclusion in his weekly column email Rockstar_Scribbler@metalunderground.com. For more information on David's writing please go to here and here. Can't get enough? Follow David on Twitter @david_s_grant.

Frank (aka Progressivity_In_All) is currently finishing up a song for insurance firm/bank USAA's national Garage Band contest, competing for $4k, a photo shoot, and a spread in USAA magazine. Frank is also putting the finishing touches on his debut album under the band name "Flight Plan." A music video has been shot for the song, "Everything," which will be debuting shortly.

Cody (aka The_Avant_Garde) recently set up a twitter account so you can follow his Metalunderground.com activity @MU_avantgarde. He is currently working on an acoustic demo, with two songs completed and a title yet to be announced.

Ty (aka xFiruath) recently delved into the controversial topic of Christian "unblack" metal for an Unearthing the Underground column, and has been talking to both pro- and anti-Christian bands around the globe for an upcoming editorial on religion's role in black metal. He had the pleasure of chatting with Robin from The Ocean for a new interview, and will be adding an entry to the Sunday Old School column in the coming weeks covering long running Swiss act Samael.

Check back next month for more updates about the writers of Metalunderground.com.
