About The Writers: October Activities
Metalunderground.com is run by a wide variety of individuals who are passionate about both metal and the wider musical world in general. Several of our staff members are also involved with side projects going on outside of the website that you may be interested in checking out. For the month of October I'll again be highlighting a sampling of our current staff activities and their involvement in the metal and music community.
Emily (aka buickmckane) maintains a retail day job and attends college full time, graduating early in December. She’s also planning a zombie burlesque show in which she will be dancing as a zombie. Emily commented on the show, “There will be other cool acts like a contortionist and black metal belly dancers, as well as the heaviest metal bands in NOLA performing. Hopefully it will happen around the end or beginning of the year. And most likely it will be filmed so everyone can see it.” Emily is still writing for New Orleans entertainment magazine Where Y'at, in which she recently had an interview published with Phil Anselmo. In other music activites, she recently started dj-ing for CoreofDestruction.com, which plays metal, punk, and related music. Emily’s show, called Crescent City Chaos With Buick McKane (named for her website CrescentCityChaos.com), is on Sunday at 4 PM central.
Pamela’s (aka Opeiya) band Gales of Avalon will take the stage with Mares of Thrace, Kobra and the Lotus, and other Alberta-based metal acts for a tribute to the women of Alberta Metal on October 23rd at The Distillery in Calgary, Alta. Canada. Relapse Records signed band Howl is set to headline. Pamela commented on the tribute, “The purpose of the show is not to put a spotlight on women in metal, but rather bring awareness to the growing contributions of all the great women in the Alberta metal community who help keep the scene vibrant, from the female musicians, vocalists, photographers, music journalists, promoters, etc. Tickets and event info can be found at this location.”
Ty (aka xFiruath) will be sampling the sights, sounds, and foods of Portland for a few days this month, but after that will be back for new interviews with Kamelot, Melechesh, Forbidden, Odyssey, and more. He’s been a little disappointed lately with the new albums from long running bands like Dimmu Borgir and Therion, but hoping that trend gets broken as new albums pop up from the likes of Samael, Amorphis, and Opeth.
Outside of work and family, Doug (aka deathbringer) has been troubleshooting the forum and adding a tabbed interface to the reviews archive so you can now find reviews of DVDs, books and demos more easily than before.
Finally, please welcome our newest contributors Paul (aka Amzer) from Dubai, and Vicky (aka Sonic Therapy) from Las Vegas.

I'm not going to make it a public discussion. If you really don't see any validity in the reasons I gave you then that itself is a problem, as nothing would ever change.
If you want to discuss it elsewhere with your friends, that's fine but don't expect me to let you harp on it here in the comments like you've done on Facebook.
Sounds awesome buick - if there's one thing that's great it's a) people who organize shows and events and b) combining music with other art.
To me a show should be more than 5 guys in black t-shirts and jeans and a little lighting. Well, that's pretty awesome some times too I just feel too many bands are lazy with creative shows.
