About The Writers: June Activities
Metalunderground.com is run by a variety of individuals who are passionate about both metal and music in general. Many of our staff members have side projects going on, and those of you who keep in touch via social networks, email, and the like, may have already heard about them. I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight for our readers some of our current staff activities and their involvement in the metal community.
Doug (aka deathbringer) is busy working on the much demanded browse-able archive of columns and op/eds, revamping the photo gallery, and more. He just recently launched a bands by country list on the main bands page, if you haven't seen it yet. He's also excited that EyeHateGod and Nachtmystium are coming through his little town and plans to cover the show for our readers.
David (aka Rockstar_Scribbler) is currently promoting his book "Rock Stars: The rise, fall, and rise of 80's front men into pop culture." A paperback version is currently available through Lulu Publishing, and a Kindle version will be published this Fall through Oak Tree Press. For reviews and more information on "Rock Stars" go to this location. David is also working on a new segment for his weekly column, The Rockstar Ramblings, adding a "Mailbag" email address for readers to send in questions, comments, and feedback. He will then be picking the best submissions and posting them periodically in the column with answers, feedback, and hopefully a laugh or two.
Frank (aka Progressivity_In_All) is a Music Licensing Representative at SESAC in Nashville, TN. He was formerly the front man for Dark Hound and now runs a solo rock band in the vein of Porcupine Tree and Blackfield titled Flight Plan. Frank is working with ET Brown from Dark Hound to start Rampant Struggle Records in Nashville, as well as a promotion company titled "Nashville M.A.R.C.H. -- Metal And Rock Community Helpers."
Pierre (aka chaos_3:16) is currently working on two recording projects - a heavy metal concept album titled "Circle of Shadows" and a progressive rock/metal project named "Gillen H20." You can keep update about the projects through the Gillen H20 MySpace page. Pierre does product reviews on music gear aimed at a younger audience who still see gear without all the industry smoke and mirrors in place. In regards to the reviews, Pierre stated "I strip away the illusions, and simplify the explanations, and let the functionality and tone of the products stand on it's own merit without swaying them with flashy licks and death defying fretboard antics, so they make the best most informed decisions when purchasing gear." You can check out the video reviews at this location.
Matt (aka Dasher10) just recently started a new band entitled Habu. Matt commented in regards to the new project "I may need to fire a member over musical differences come our second practice. It's fun to navigate those politics."
Ty (aka xFiruath) is currently in the process of setting up several new high profile interviews for bands with upcoming releases. Without giving too much away, let's just say you'd be a "Sucka" if you didn't "Scream" for a certain album. He's also hoping we get a new Opeth album soon and can't wait to hear how Septic Flesh plans on topping the "Communion" album.
We'll be updating what our writers are up to on the first Saturday of every month, so check back next month to stay up to date on the activity of the Metalunderground.com staff.

You obviously really don't read this site and just came to spam your band link here. Please see our bands page (underground bands tab) and also this FAQ.
And maybe this one too if you actually want to get covere here.
Complaining and not reading certainly won't get it done.

^haha, no sh!t.....a shameless plug and caps lock.....talk about hitting the daily double....
MU is definently blowing up....just keep those mistakes to a minimum with breaking news and writting wrong setlist reviews at shows ala pentagram and everything is creme cheese.....
^ i'm not going to say that the writers here should not care what they post. But i think some people overreacted to the mistake involving dio. these guys contribute to this site because they love metal not because there payed to do so.Since there not hired to work on this site 24/7 i don't mind an occasional screw up
just fer sh!ts & giggles i checked out dodey hole's (#1) crappy band and shall take the liberty to review it here:
fvcking dog sh!t---not much else to say... sorry dude :)
RT brother....you still bent about the dio deal? come on man...'underground wasn't the only media that jumped the gun on that one---and while there was a brief period of inappropriate defensiveness by the writers, i think the situation was ammeliorated as quickly as possible by all responsible....
hell of a lot more than can be said for the generally contrived bullsh** mainstream media that is spoonfed to willing and eager idiots the world over, which also so often assumes the revoltingly arrogant attitude of being above and beyond reproach....eh?
i send a hearty cheers! and some big a$s fvckin horns up! to the good and decent staffers here at the mighty 'underground
thanks, and keep up the great work guys and gals \m/ X \m/

Morning rat, na, of coarse not my brother, i aint bent, but any news source that breaks the wrong story deserves criticism....now there were some idiots that went overboard with there blasts but i think it would be a little bias and nieve to think any news source that prematurely breaks a story or prints a false or incorrect one should be left off the hook, without any criticism....dont you?...i luv the site as well, i want it to succeed, but my thing is when i like something or am passionate about it, im usually there harshest critic because i want them to strive to be the best or on top....call me crazy
surely not brother! bust them balls when the bustin is due, but once the fvck up has been taken care of and apology issued....well then its just kickin dead ponies ;)
if we're voicing criticizms here...my vote goes for NEVER another sorry tale about fvckin brett the wigdanna, or ANYthing to do with vengie7x ever again!!
that sh!t AIN'T METAL....
I've advocated for adding a comment feature on the reviews in the past, but it's not something that's going to happen. The unfortunate fact is that any comment board on any review would be filled with barely readable drivel consisting of all caps, expletive laden, exclamation point covered nonsense from people who disagreed with the review. If you guys want to discuss a particular review though, you could certainly create a new thread in the forum for that purpose. I'd personally like to hear from people who have read any of my reviews and then checked out the band.
To minimize comment spam/abuse, you cannot post comments on articles over a month old. Please check the sidebar to the right or the related band pages for recent related news articles.
SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE COVERING WAY TOO MANY MAINSTREAM METAL BANDS TO BE CALLED "UNDERGROUND". WHY NOT COVER ALL THE THOUSANDS OF GREAT UNSIGNED BANDS THAT ARE ACTUALLY "UNDERGROUND". I MEAN, ALL THESE BANDS THAT ARE FEATURED ON HERE ALREADY HAVE ALL THE PUBLICITY AND EXPOSURE WITH FANS AND PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD, SO WHY NOT HELP THE LITTLE GUY OUT AND LET THE WORLD KNOW ABOUT WHATS GOING ON IN THE ACTUAL UNDERGROUND.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
