Ignitor Checks In With Band Activity Update

Texas based act Ignitor has checked in with the following update about the band's activity:

"Well we haven't posted anything here for quite awhile so I thought you'd wanna to know what we've been up to the past few months. Life's been good since the Spider Queen was released. We made our San Antonio debut with Jason up front in December at Zombies, a big 'ol cavernous hall on the far northeast side of town. San Antonio is one of the meccas of US metal and we never miss a chance to get down there. The glory days of Joe Anthony may be behind it, but the spirit of old-school metal still thrives in the Alamo City.

"In January we helped usher in a new metal club here in Austin next door to Emos called Encore. The Metal Freakstress and TEXAS METAL UNDERGROUND produced the debut weekend and Ignitor tore down the high-tech dance floor along with Austin metal masters Militia and Birth A.D., Jeff Tandy's (Averse Serifa) blistering new DRI-ish side project. The club was formerly a red-rope dance club that was closed after some rappers from La Grange showed up too late for their gig and shot up the place. Just an average night on the dog-leg known as Red River.

"Later in the month we flew to Chicago to play a gig with our buds and Cruz del Sur label-mates Bible of the Devil. The show was a one-off quickie in a small club called the Red Line Tap. Why would life-long Texans fly to Chicago in the dead of winter you ask? Well, why not? Actually the weather was clear and cold so the trip was a blast. We can't wait to get back to Chi-town for some metal pizza and hot dogs. Thanks to Greg and BOTD for an awesome show.

"Last week we opened for the legendary Hammerfall at Emos here in Austin. As always they put on a fantastic show. They brought a band from Denver with them, Havok, who kicked some major ass, bringing back the early Bay-Area thrash to the next (what - 3rd now?) generation.

"We have some key shows coming up as well, playing with the almighty Primal Fear at Emos on Sunday June 13. I am really looking forward to this show! We're also playing with Fates Warning in San Antonio on July 10. Check out all the new show dates on the main page, and look for news about our new upcoming EP soon."

The upcoming Ignitor tour dates are as follows:

5/14 2010 DIRTY DOG BAR AUSTIN, Texas
5/23 2010 Scoot Inn Austin, Texas
6/13 2010 Emos (w/ Primal Fear) Austin, Texas
7/10 2010 Scout Bar (w/ Fates Warning) San Antonio, Texas
