Ronald Pituch, 29, a Medford man who was sentenced to 50 years in prison yesterday for killing his mother and an 11-year-old boy more than two years ago says he believed he was possessed by the devil and that a song by heavy-metal band Metallica titled "Ronnie" (from teh album "Load") - which is about a loner who commits murder - was written about him.

Pituch said his mental problems were exacerbated by drinking but that he has been taking medication consistently since he was arrested for the killings. Defense attorneys acknowledged Pituch has manic depression and is a paranoid schizophrenic.

Men his thing is overrated, that man is sick and we shouldn't give so much attention to the f***er.
And ofcource music can make you do things but never only thru music, it is and always will be your f***in' own choice!! But music can be f***in' stimulating, if you're mad at someone and you go listen slipknot or whatever, damn those emotions will be made worse, allthough it still isn't an excuse.....

The article didn't say anything about whether or not Ronald Putich was a disturbed child or not, just that he has killed recently. And I've heard that "Ronnie" is about a young disturbed boy, but his name wasn't Ronnie, Metallica used that name to hide the identity of the boy. The song also explains how "Ronnie" "pulled the gun from his pocket, and they all fall down", this suggests that the kid must have killed someone. I think I read it in the So What! book.

What doesn't make sense to me is that it doesn't say that he was possessed by the song "Ronnie" but that the song was written about him which I don't understand because it couldn't be written about him if he commited the murder in 2002 'cause the song was written many years earlier. ??? The world is full of crazy people and that will never change people will always try to blame their unacceptable actions on an outside force it is the nature of society.
