The Rockstar Ramblings: D-D-D-Dancing…

Sleeveless jean jackets are back along with spandex and a potential prequel to an Aerosmith favorite.

Reverse Grip have released a video for the song "Dancing On A Bullet", from their 'Hunger For Chaos' album. The video begins with a girl dolling it up, or “slutting” it up, getting ready for a night on the town (or hotel room, hard to say). Given how band wears their influences on their sleeve (literally) I was hoping the chorus would break out into Motley Crue’s “Dancing on Glass” with the “D-D-D-Dancing…”, but no such luck. The girl returns and she is either really hung over from hustling guys the night before or very depressed. Apparently she’s depressed as the video ends with the girl pulling out a gun. This is not a very happy video. To cheer myself up I’m going to make believe her name is Janie and that this is a prequel to “Janie’s Got a Gun.” I don’t know why this makes me feel better, but it does…

The female rockers known as Thundermother have released a video for "Rock'N'Roll Disaster", the second single from their debut album of the same name. For those not familiar, this is a female version of AC/DC complete with synchronized guitar playing movements. How about that guy in the front row wearing the red Thundermother t-shirt? Has to be their biggest fan, right?

Sin/City's is back with a new single, “Rock The Nations”, that features members of Bonafide, Hardbone and a lot more. I like the song more than the video (except of course for the sleeveless jean jacket – that is fucking awesome). This is one of the videos where EVERYONE is singing on stage and it’s too hard to figure out what is going on or concentrate on the song. There really needs to be a one or two-person max limit on vocalists…
